The Fate of Konor Campaign has begun!

By David

Galaxy in Flames: Fate of Konor is Games Workshop's global campaign this summer to coincide with the release of Warhammer 40,000 8th Edition. GW fans will be no strangers to big global campaigns and many of us here in the office have fond memories of the glory days of the massive Armageddon and Eye of Terror campaigns of yesteryear.

Over 6 weeks, players will battle to defend or to destroy Konor, a crucial Forge World in the Realm of Ultramar. Konor could be a pillar upon which a resurgent Imperium of Man could stand or if it falls, a rotting, rusted nail in the coffin of an already faltering empire.

How to get involved

There are many ways for you to contribute to the war effort, from playing and winning games through to collecting and painting new units and armies.

1. Winning Games

The first way to take part in the campaign is to play games of Warhammer 40,000 against your friends (or enemies). The winners can then report their victory through one of the official reporting locations, including Mighty Ape. Games can be played anywhere, at home or at your local club for instance, and at any points value.

Your army will below to one of 3 factions: Imperium, Chaos or Xenos. Victories for Imperium or Chaos will score points for their respective sides and Xenos players victories give them the choice to remove points from either side.

To report your victory simply pop into our showroom in Albany and add it to the results sheet. We can also record victories through our Mighty Ape Hobbies Facebook Page. All you need to do is send us a message or post on the page with the details of your game; which armies played, who was the winner & which side you want the points to go; and a photo of your game in action.

Each week we will register the results into the campaign and you will be able to follow the battle for Mighty Ape here. We will also make a campaign album on our facebook page to show off the awesome work of our local hobbyists.

Bonus points are available each week if the army used in your victories includes the themed units for each week:

  • Week 1: Start Collecting Boxes or Space Marines
  • Week 2: Elites
  • Week 3: Tanks
  • Week 4: Psykers
  • Week 5: Fast Attack/Flyers
  • Week 6: Scenery/Lord of War

2. Painting Units

Each new datasheet of models which you paint during the campaign is worth points too, and if you finish painting one of the themed units each week those are worth double points!

To submit your painting results simply message the Hobbies Facebook Page or post on our wall with a photo of the completed datasheet. Once again we will be making an album of all the painting results submitted.

In the interests of fairness please only submit units which you have completed since July 1st.
