Andre Rieu - My African Dream (2 Disc Set) reviews

Cannot rate it highly enough Have watched it 3 times since I received it in the post. That was Two days ago. I feel it is the Best of the DVD"s that I have of Andre's Will be on the lookout for more of his African DVD"s. It would be really great if through music the African Peoples wounds can be healed and they are more tolerant of each other. Kimi"s voice is truely magnificent. A gift from God. It is no wonder that people were so moved by her . She is one very special lady. Onya Kimi.

This was an excellent show and the behind the scenes sections reveal just how much work and thought goes into these concerts. The African singer was fantastic and well accepted by the mainly white audience – what a fabulous voice!

Loved the music but too many interviews

Music good but not enough of it too much talking

I was hoping to see more African music

With disc 1 being a documentary, I was disappointed at all the interviews and interruptions on disc 2. The items were good but too few. Mimi was wonderful – her song My African Dream is haunting and stirs the emotions.

This double DVD set was amazing to watch. It was interesting to get an insite as to what goes on “behind the scenes.” Andre seemed very “touched” with the African singer's perfor­mance. I would recommend this set to everyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed Andre's new double DVD especially has it has a lot about Andre himself and a great look at behind the scenes. My one negative comment would be that on the concert DVD that there was no enough of the concert. What I did get to see was absolutely amazing – wonderful new soprano (hope we see more of her) and a number of South African melodies and songs we had never heard before. It was also amazing to see not only the emotion in the audience but also on stage. I don't think I have ever seen Andre with tears running down his face. All in all – very worth buying and please can't we get a DVD of the Cape Town concert in its entirety.
