It is all wonderfully precision made. I grew up in a toy shop which stocked many kiset models but nothing as good as this. I knew it would be somewhat complex but I am pleasantly daunted. In my retirement it is just what I need. However, at the speed I operate I may not get it completed in time for the Cook 250 year celebration next year here in Gisborne New Zealand.
The model of the HMS Endeavour is part of Australia's link to it's historical past. This model is a fine replica of the HMS Endeavour, the ships beautiful bluff bow & well rounded hull would have of allowed this ship to sale to the “Ends Of The Earth”. Beginning life as the Earl Of Pembroke a Collier Ship it was purchased by the British Admiralty & re-fitted, armed & renamed HMS ENDEAVOUR for Cook's so called expedition to witness the Transit of Venus. This is a 6/7 months build for experienced modeller's, however once built you'll have a piece of history in your home.

The HMS Endeavour was launched in 1765 and was acquired three years later by the British Admiralty and prepared for a three year voyage under the command of Captain James Cook.
His most important mission was the scientific observation of an eclipse of the Sun by Venus in the southern hemisphere.
After numerous adventures and tragedies, in which part of the crew lost their lives, the HMS Endeavour returned to England on 13th July 1777
