BATTLESTAR GALACTICA 2003 TV SERIES KIT VERSION (35cm / 14" LONG) NEW Battlestar Galactica by Moebius Models Galactica was one of the first twelve battlestars to be constructed by the Colonials, each representing one of the twelve colonies; Galactica represented Caprica. As such, she is some 50 years old. Galactica (BS 75) is a veteran battlestar and the last of her kind still in service with the Colonial Fleet at the time of the destruction of the Twelve Colonies. Built during the early days of the Cylon War, she becomes one of only two known battlestars (the other being Pegasus) to survive the renewed Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies. By the time of this attack, she was part of the 75th Battlestar Group (BSG-75).
Galactica is moulded in 1:4105 scale, in scale with Revell / Monograms original kit release. 35cm / 14" long (when assembled) plastic model kit of the Battlestar Galactica from the 2003 tv series.
Skill level 3, experienced modellers age 15+.

Moebius Models are producing some great plastic kitsets and the new Battlestar Galactica is no exception. Moebuis is known for producing some very large scale kits, like their Lost in Space Jupiter 2 and the Seaview submarine from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. This kit is very much on the smaller side but still builds up into a great display model. The fit of the parts is up to Moebius’s usual high standard and makes this a good kit for beginners to the hobby. The instructions are very well laid out with photos of various assemblies as well as traditional diagrams.
It can be build in less than a day and requires very little filling and sanding.
Painting is pretty easy with one grey colour overall with only some red striping needed to be applied. As this is a model of such a big ship, it does respond well to some paint colour texturing and colour washes to make the model look 'bigger’. There are some good suggestions on the instruction sheet on how to do this and there is lots of information on the internet as well.
A highly anticipated kit and well recommended. Good price on Mighty Ape too.
