University parapsychologists Dr. Peter Venkman (Murray), Dr. Raymond Stanz (Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Ramis) lose a research grant when their experiment methodology is proven to be bogus. The team decides to go into business for themselves and open ‘Ghostbusters,’ a ghost removal service. After struggling to get on their feet, they are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in Dana Barrett’s (Weaver) Central Park West apartment. What they discover is that all Manhattan is being besieged by ghosts and other worldly demons through a portal in her building.

5 stars "Timeless"

Its good to see most of the major film studios are beginning to release older titles onto Blu-ray and Ghostbusters is a welcome addition.
No doubt the release of Ghostbusters has been done to accompany the release of the Ghostbusters Game for PS3 & XBox.
Sometimes you get the feeling that the film studio has rushed such a release onto Blu-ray format and it almost seems that a little more time could have been spent not so much on the 1080p picture transfer butthe Dolby TrueHD soundtrack, not that I am complaining, the one liners still hold up as poular today as they did back then “Listen…Do You Smell Something” not to mention Bill Murray at is all time best.
The added extras on the disc contain a preview of the Ghostbusters game including interviews with most of the original cast and an exellent directors commentary which gives quite an insight on just how hard it was to do those
special effects before the invent oif CGI technology
A very worth while addition to your collection, its the type of movie you can watch more than once.
