Well acted scripted smart clever modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes......my favourite tv series......bri­lliant

A great new series, very well done. The stories are interesting and sherlock is ingenious.
Well worth the money cant wait till season 2

I grabbed this one for my better half's birthday, and we were pleasantly surprised about how really good it is.

If I had to describe it to someone in a single sentence, it would be, “House meets a crime scene.” Sherlock's manner is deliciously abrasive, and sparkles with a genius that just works in all situations. Taking the House out of the hospital and applying him to a crime scene is a work of genius.

The acting in this is superb – top notch – and the Sherlock and Watson relationship unfolds in a believable way. Both actors earn their stripes performing in their roles, and show their versatility.

If there's one thing that lets Sherlock down – stopping this from getting the “Excellent” it could achieve – it's that some of the plots can be, well, not as devious as they could be. The stories seem to have a fiendish start to them, without any possible solution – but the end of them seems to have almost a canned solution without the killer thrust I was expecting.

It's probably worth noting that whilst this is “only three episodes” that's misleading – the episodes are long, movie-length in their stride, and there's a lot more content on this disc than you might expect. Rather than expecting this to be 3 45-minute sessions, think of it more as 3 made-for-TV movies – albeit with better acting, production values, and so on.

You probably want the Blu-ray too, it sings in high-def and has a sharpness that indicates it was filmed and produced that way. The only thing potentially lacking is the sound stage, which is good enough but doesn't necessarily leap out at you.

If you're a fan of House, crime dramas, or superb acting then you'd do well to look into this for your collection. We need more excellent British thrillers and this really worked for me. I can't wait for Season 2.

This series is simply genius.

It's a very modern and British take on the Sherlock Holmes legend that will keep you intrigued and glued to your screens throughout the entire 90 minutes (Of each episode).

This version is greatly different to the American movie starring Robert Downey, Jnr in that it was made by the British who always bring their own flavor and classic humor to a production.

Sherlock is a Bafta-winning masterpeice im sure you will fall in love with. Series 2 is currently in production so watch this with anticipation and assurance that its not just a one hit wonder. This is just the beginning.
