5 stars "Gladiator on steriods!!!"

I bought this dvd after hearing good reports from people who'd watched it on SKY. Being a big fan of ‘sword and sandel’ epics I have to admit that even I wasn't prepared for the graphic nature of this series. The violence, nudity and swearing is right in your face and leaves little to the imagination. That said, it was the story that quickly drew me in with plenty of intrigue, power plays and underhand wheeling and dealing. The acting from the relatively unknow cast was excellent and the fight scenes were both visceral and captivating. Love or hate Spartacus Blood and Sand I guarantee you'll still be thinking about it long after you've finished watching!

5 stars "Bloody, sexy and full off action..."

I saw one of this episodes on sky and knew stright away I needed the series…
Not only is it flim in New Zealand (well Auckland, but we wont hold that against it.....) but it has a good health kiwi cast it in as well..

But be warned, there is lots to earn it, it's R18 rating, sex, bloody fights a lot like 300, and more swearing then me staff Sargeant from the army…

Can't wait till the next Season …

5 stars "Ignore the bad acting in episode 1 and you will be rewarded"

Once you get past all the bad acting in the first episode where the unimportant extras all go away(die) then a decent story unfolds with some great blood and guts action. It's a must see in Bluray.

4 stars "Spartacus blood and sex"

A poor man's 300 this might be but I enjoyed it. The violence was excessive and unrealistic, I liked it. The constant nudity, male and female, was not a problem for me. The swearing was gratuitous and annoying. Lucy Lawless' acting was a stand out.

5 stars "Superb action,great drama"

Perfect for fans of the gladiator movie has all the action with ample amounts of drama
(Disclaimer also contains nudity, blood and violence) all the good things for this type of show. not for those that are faint of heart
