Those familiar to the world created by Robert Jordan owe thanks to Sanderson for continuing and completing his work. Many years ago the New York times said that Jordan had come to dominate the world that Tolkien had begun to reveal. This final book stands true to such a statement and does justice to a series the likes of which there may only ever be one of.
An outstanding ending to an epic series. I was unable to put the book down and felt completely drawn into the book.
Sanderson's sense of timing and insight into the human psyche is awesome. He maintains a multi-hundred page non-stop rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs; swinging between expectation, suspense, triumph, and tragedy.
My partner was happy when I finished reading the thing because I was able to talk to her again.
If for some reason unknown to sanity you have been following this series and have not as yet purchased and read the final book there is something very wrong. Like seriously – I'd go see a doctor or something. This book is the culmination of 20 years of work and it is a masterpiece. Buy it. Buy it twice.
Hell Yeah!
This book managed to hold me entranced, tears flowing down my cheeks, while the Last Battle raged People you thought certainly doomed are saved at the last minute and when you think someone is safe, the Shadow is sure to strike.
Almost every character we have been introduced to over the first 13 books has their own part to play in this book. Sanderson has woven the complicated threads of the story into a grand tapestry of a conclusion that Robert Jordan would have been proud of.
