5 stars "If Twilight fans had brains, this is what they would read"

It is rare when writers create better books with each new installment in a series. George Martin rules fantasy fiction.
Storm is full of admirable intricacies. Events that you thought Martin was setting up solidly for the first two books are exposed as complex feints; the field quickly narrows after the Battle of the Blackwater and once again, anything goes.

I'd go on but I would be spoiling a really good book for you.

5 stars "Amazing!"

Just like the others this book is a very well written and exciting read! Definitely one of my all time favourite book series! I love the fact it makes you think about things and you are constantly trying to work it all out!

5 stars "Part 1 of the Best in the Series"

A Storm of Swords is the best novel in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series. The size of this installment means that it has been split into two, and both are essential for the story. Steel and Snow sets the scene following the events of A Clash of Kings, and maintains a momentum that few fantasy novels can boast.

5 stars "Fantastic!"

Had a lot of fun with this. Really recommend buying this. If you like the fantasy realm and being taken into another dimension then definitely buy this. It is truly a work of art. I have read it so many times now but still am not sick of it. Hope to see this series carry on strongly as I dearly enjoy it!

5 stars "Like Lord of the Rings with rude bits"

One for the fans of fantasy, but not in a cliched way. George R R Martin is a brilliant storyteller, with a thrilling plot and faultless characterisation. I am totally immersed in the his world, next step the DVD of the HBO TV series, from Mighty Ape perhaps-

Description

Split into two books for the paperback, the third volume in George R.R. Martin's superb and highly acclaimed epic fantasy A Song of Ice and Fire continues the richest, most exotic and mesmerising saga since The Lord of the Rings. The Seven Kingdoms are divided by revolt and blood feud, and winter approaches like an angry beast. Beyond the Northern borders, wildlings leave their villages to gather in the ice and stone wasteland of the Frostfangs. From there, the renegade Brother Mance Rayder will lead them South towards the Wall. Robb Stark wears his new-forged crown in the Kingdom of the North, but his defences are ranged against attack from the South, the land of House Stark's enemies the Lannisters. His sisters are trapped there, dead or likely yet to die, at the whim of the Lannister boy-king Joffrey or his depraved mother Cersei, regent of the Iron Throne. And Daenerys Stormborn will return to the land of her birth to avenge the murder of her father, the last Dragon King on the Iron Throne.

‘Colossal, staggering… all the intoxicating complexity of the Wars of the Roses or Imperial Rome… one of the greats of fantasy literature.’ SFX ‘The sheer-mind-boggling scope of this epic has sent other fantasy writers away shaking their heads… Its ambition: to construct the Twelve Caesars of fantasy fiction, with characters so venomous they could eat the Borgias.’ Guardian
