After watching Annabel's TV series, it was a must to get her book which is also excellent in the quality of the recipes and presentation…even bought a extra copy for my mum…

I absolutely love this cook book! The meals are easy to prepare and taste wonderful. It's great to be able to have this cook book in hand when I am watching her DVD.

I bought this book from Mighty Ape when no one else had copies & I'm really pleased I did.
The pictures are beautiful, the food is magic & its really easy to follow.
I love that she gives you ideas about how you can change the recipes or do them another way – it gives you confidence in the kitchen.
Perfect for those that love the TV show!

I'm very impressed with this beautiful cook book which is lovely just to sit and browse through. I love the TV series and now I have these compiled in this book.

The book is very large, full of simple yet stylish recipes, excellent photos, and the bonus is annabel's infor­mative descriptions of different foods and ingredients. the only negative is that the book arrived with one corner damaged due to postal handing. perhaps the packaging needs to be stronger in the corners as the book is so heavy. also, a small criticism of the book is that the recipes are printed in a very light text. could be sharper.

Annabell does it again with this stunning cook book, the photography is amazing and the recipies are easy to follow and use every day fresh ingredents. This cook book makes you want to sell up and get your own piece of Central Otago. A must for the Summer coming up

What a totally awesome book! I'd given up buying cookbooks because the recipies were too “involved” and ingredients too hard to source. This book is brilliant! All the recipies are straight forward, but look like you've spent lots of money and time on them! The book is beautifully laid out, definately worth the money! A great “kiwi” cookbook.

The latest delight to add to my Annabel Langbein book collection.I use them every day and this will be no exception . A delight to read as we watch the TV series and so many tastes and images to tantalise…can't wait for summer!

Fantastic book. Recipes for every level, the pork belly in milk is our new fave. My sister in law had this book for months and I kept stealing recipes so it was time to get my own, a must have for every household.

I watched the programme and then got the book. This book is great. Easy recipes that don't require a million unheard of ingrediants. Nice thick pages with great insights and photos. A pleasure to own.

It's made me want to move to the country, live off the land and cook all day. There's not one recipe that I wouldn't try and no single reason I won't be recommending this to everyone I know. Just beautiful.

A great book with easy recipes that even my teenages like to cook from, with delicious breads , sweet or savory , what to do with left over tomato's for pasta sauce's, the seafood side of things is a bit like right we'll just pull a lobster out of the fridge but if you can that's great , but over all a common sence book , very helpful and best of all tasty.

For someone who is not a confident cook, this book is great, as it instills confidence in you with the easy to follow instructions, these receipes are what I would describe as non-failures, so cook and bake in confidence.

Looks easy enough and tried them and they were ! Doing food I wouldn't normally try. All very healthy and yum. Great pictures of Otago to browse through while I cook in Melbourne.

It is a must for everyone! It is easy to follow with beautiful pictures easy instructions. It is so good my friends have bought it after borrowing my copy!

There is no need to look for any other recipe book to introduce you to the ease and sophistication of learning to cook a huge variety of fascinating dishes. Specifically making use of fresh ingredients with helpful and detailed instructions, you just can't go wrong with this and any and all Annabel Langbein cookbooks.

My sister had this book and I loved it so much I bought my own. When Christmas rolled around I was searching for a gift for my daughter and her husband . The Free Range Cook was the perfect choice as the inspirational recipes by Annabel Langbein are gorgeous and easy to prepare – even by timid cooks. I was hoping to inspire my son in law to cook too – because he used to before they were married and now he doesn't. I think I've pulled this off as, of the two of them, he was the first to read it.

This book is an awesome book to help us get back to simple but flavoursome food. Growing your own and cooking your own. There are so many little hints a long the way and it almost has a spiritual quality about it as Annabel shares some of her life which encourages us to spend time with growth, food and friends. Love it!

This book is great, New Zealand Food that is easily sourced and with the TV program everyone has seen how easy the recipes are to put together. Congratulations to Annabel on having the most talked about cookbook this year!!

The pictures are beautiful. The recipes and script are excellent but the pale ink used and the white script on yellow and other pale colours make for very difficult reading. This really detracts from what should be a great book. After a while I found the difficulty of reading too frustrating and put what should be a favourite read aside. A serious blunder on the part of the publisher who should have seen the serious blunder after the very first proof.

I had this delivered to Arrowtown for Christmas but haven't seen it yet as My Husband has a brain tumour and not expected to live so we cannot go to Arrowtown, But I will enjoy it when I have time, I enjoyed the TV Programme.

If you've seen the TV show, this book will not disappoint.

The companion to the TV show of the same name. Great easy recipes with style and imagination looking both towards the trends and backwards to the traditions of the past. You could call it fab cooking with a conscience.

All the recipes are easy to make and a pleasure to eat. We love all the extra bits and pieces too(photos). Highly recommended!!
