Description

With the Human-Covenant war over, the universe is in chaos. The enemy that gave humanity much-needed drive and unity has been defeated. Rising from the trauma of this long-fought, devastating conflict, the UNSC must now lay claim to the universe. But new dangers, both alien and human, may threaten any chance for lasting peace.

Join a group of old soldiers and new heroes as they begin a mission to penetrate what was once the heart of the Covenant empire in a desperate attempt to stop old foes from rising again.

5 stars "A Classic Halo Read"

Halo: Glasslands picks up from where Ghosts of Onyx and Halo 3 left off and is another great book in the Halo series.

4 stars "About time!"

It was nearly six years ago that I finished Ghosts of Onyx, which left a majority of the main characters on a disgustingly brilliant but massive cliff-hanger. Then the next two books were either a prequel or a compilation.

Glasslands is written by Karen Traviss, who brilliantly wrote the Gears of War novels. And her style is easily recognised, especially her way of having each chapter contain many different character POVs. This isn't bad, and while the new characters and plots are very fleshed out and interesting, it's the continuation of the Onyx plot that I really want to read about.

It's still a good book, and much better than the Forerunner novel saga.

4 stars "Good read"

I'm currently reading this book and am finding it hard to put down. It is filling out the story and I have a feeling that the next book is just going to as exciting.
