Orca liked to explore but sometimes it got him into trouble. This story tells of what happened when Orca did not listen to his friends and went to explore the shallow water off the beach at Uretiti, Bream Bay, New Zealand. Dr Ingrid Visser, founder of the Orca Research Trust has endorsed the book. She says that 'Orca' is a typical orca from our waters - adventurous and often spending time in shallow waters along the coastline, occasionally resulting in strandings as this story describes.

Author Biography

Alex Gordon lives with his family on a farm near Waipu, New Zealand. He wrote this story when he was seven and a pupil of Waipu Primary School. Alex prefers writing fiction to non fiction. He also enjoys sport - especially rugby, fishing and playing the ukulele.
