Since meeting vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, Elena Gilbert has been to hell and back. Now that she and her friends have saved their hometown from a demonic spirit, everything can finally go back to normal. But Elena should know better than anyone that Fell's Church will never be normal. In PHANTOM, a dangerous new other-worldly threat sets its sights on Elena. And this time she can only count on one Salvatore brother to protect her.
Author Biography
L. J. Smith has written more than two dozen books for children and young adults. She lives in the Bay Area of California, but is happiest in a little cabin near Point Reyes National Park, which has lots of trees, lots of animals, lots of beaches to walk on, and lots of places to hike.
L.J. Smith will not be allowed to write anymore Vampire Diaries. It was taken from her and given to a ghostwriter. She has fought long and hard to prevent/reverse this decision, but Alloy (the book packaging company) will not budge. This was allowed to happen because of a “work for hire” clause in the original contract she signed in the '90s when she really didn’t understand what it meant. Phantom was written by L.J. Smith, but the publishers told the ghostwriter to rewrite it. However, it will still say “Created by L.J. Smith.” I won’t be buying it because a) I don’t think it will be any good and b) I think it was very underhanded move by Alloy to do what they did. Of course, everyone is free to decide for themselves what they will read. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew the facts.
Was ok, not sure I will bother with anymore, you could tell it wasn't written by LJ Smith due to the inconsistency between this book and the first 7 which LJ wrote.
