Donovan Bixley is an illustrator and designer. His design company, Magma Design, is based in Taupo. Donovan has illustrated more than 100 stories and book covers as well as over 50 books, including Harry Hobnail & the Pungapeople and Mr Tanglewood & the Pungapeople by beloved New Zealand author Barry Crump. He has also written and illustrated half a dozen books of his own, including Faithfully Mozart which was a finalist in the 2006 Montana New Zealand Book Awards.

"Fantastic Book"
This is a great book. Children love spotting where that cheeky fantail is going to turn up next. The bright colours and wide range of native animals makes this traditional song even more interesting.

This book is good if you have family over seas in Aussie or somewhere else
"A cheerful child's picture book with a kiwi twist."
As a kindergarten Teacher I am always on the look out for quality
children's storybooks and was not disappointed in this delightful book. When
I read it to the children they were engaged with the familiar rhythm of a well
loved story combined with pictures of well known kiwi characters, calling out
the names of animals and birds that they knew.
A great buy! Completely recommended!
"Travel on the bus through NZ with the animals, birds and fish."
This is a wonderful take on a children's old favourite. The colours in the drawings are wonderful as are the number of things going on. The children just love to find all the different animals, fish and birds as they sing along.
