Best Of Brandy

With a highly successful acting career, including the title role in the long-running TV show MOESHA, Brandy has tended to release albums sporadically--between 1994 and 2004, she recorded only four full-length outings. However, her albums have been dense with hits, including two Number One singles, "The Boy Is Mine" and "Have You Ever?" THE BEST OF BRANDY compiles these songs, along with other hits, a few album tracks, and rare cuts.

Brandy's singles are neatly presented in chronological order, with the exception of compilation tracks (including her plaintive ballad "Sittin' Up in My Room" from the film WAITING TO EXHALE). With an abundance of pop-friendly R&B as impressive as Brandy's winsome vocals, the walk through her top songs is a fun stroll. Three rarities end the collection, starting with a hip-hop remake of Michael Jackson's "Rock with You," a tune she was obviously meant to sing. A sly, soulful reworking of Phil Collins's somber reflection on poverty, "Another Day in Paradise," and a spry remix of "I Wanna Be Down" (featuring the elite rap trio of Queen Latifah, Yo Yo, and MC Lyte) round out THE BEST OF BRANDY.
