Hed Kandi: Beach House 2010 (3 CD Set)

Summer is officially here, so it must be time for a deeply soulful sundrenched collection of Beach House. This is the defining sound of Hed Kandi’s jet-set lifestyle and will be the tone of our summer residencies across the globe for 2010! As is custom, this album encapsulates all that is fabulous about the quintessential Hed Kandi sun-kissed experience.

This release is all about sexy, mid-tempo house, and offers up beatific Balearic grooves alongside Latin-flavoured lovelies, with searing vocals scattered across 3CDs this year! To celebrate our 100th release we have included a disc featuring our all time favourite soulful Beach House grooves for a complete classics trip down memory lane.


Kicking things off the Sunrise Disc drives straight into Strictly Rhythm stars Daniel Bovy & Roy Rox remix of South Street Player’s; (Who?) Keeps Changing Your Mind. A superb vocal accompanied by driving strings and an uplifting horn section sets the mood for this beach-bound anthem. House don Dennis Ferrer makes an appearance with 2009's club hit Sinfonia Della Note. With Afterlife on the remix duties Dennis’s original is transformed into a truly chilled out affair with live drums and serious reverb vibes creating a truly ambient tune perfect for any poolside session. Other highlights include a splendid remix from Joris Voorn of the much-loved Beachball from Nalin & Kane and the welcome return of the ever popular Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, as he teams up with big guns, The Shapeshifters and their new track The Ones You Love.

Next up we plunge into our all time favourites on the Sunshine Classics Mix and get set with the melodies that have graced millions of sound systems over the years. Many might feel a Beach House classics disc is well overdue but here at Kandi HQ we have been waiting for the perfect blend and collection of what we consider to be cocktail classics from years gone by to mark our 100th release! All these classics were selected from a list of the most rated tracks submitted by our online family - so a big thank you goes out to all our Facebook friends. Every single track on this disc will have you swinging through the sun-filled summer days. These tracks need no introduction and speak for themselves as I am sure you will agree!

Lastly we explore the Sunset Disc which introduces a selection of artists we love but would not normally get the chance to represent. Artists who’s music is testing boundaries, who are clearly having a lot of fun doing what they do. Prepare for Hed Kandi to take it deeper than we have ever been before. This disc feature the likes of Zev and Gadi Mizrahi of Wolf + Lamb with their sublimely soulful Forget The World and Who’s Gonna Love Me Now. Kandi regulars Crazy P feature with their remix of Reboot’s anthem Enjoy Music transforming it perfectly for this disc and DJ Dean Rigg represents Hed Kandi HQ along with his production partner Christian Hoff with an awesome new remix of Jamie Jones’ Summertime. Balearic percussion, sultry sax and a biting bass-line bring Summertime to the beach where it belongs. Lisa Shaw’s Can You See Him is another highlight along with the hauntingly deep Chicago from London based producer jozif.

So, whether you’re off to Ibiza this year to join us at our Carnival Balearica at Es Paradis, or you’re planning a spot of sunbathing poolside, or perhaps just a chilled-out session of iced-up cocktails lounging on your sundeck on a Sunday afternoon, this album is the soundtrack to your summer!
