This 2CD set, recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in late 1999, is best thought of as an encapsulation of the inevitable. Deep Purple was the first band to note that heavy metal and classical music shared a certain sense of grandeur and, subsequently, combined the two.

This concert features both Ian Gillan and the late great Ronnie James Dio on vocals, as well as guest Sam Brown.
