In the early ‘90s, years before Killswitch Engage & Shadows Fall started combining strangled growls with catchy vocal melodies, & Static-X & Rammstein began blending pounding staccato riffs & jackhammer beats with electronic samples, LA future-thinkers Fear Factory were reinventing both death metal & industrial rock with an arsenal of sonic styles.

By 2002, Fear Factory had released four critically acclaimed albums & two industrial remix EPs, selling over a million albums in the process, but, following a gruelling tour with Machine Head, the creative core of the group imploded due to personal differences & sheer exhaustion.

Guitarist & songwriter Dino Cazares went on to play with Brujeria & Asesino, while vocalist Burton C. Bell took a few months off before eventually reforming the band & releasing two more albums over the next few years. Without Cazares in the mix, however, Fear Factory were missing a key element of its sound, ending up a shadow of their former selves.

As time passed, it seemed less likely that Bell & Cazares would ever reconcile, but, after a full 6yrs without speaking, a chance meeting brought the pair back together - & now we’re stoked to announce the release of a new album!

Bell & Cazares are joined by bassist Byron Stroud & drummer Gene Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad) for Fear Factory’s 7th studio album, Mechanize. Mechanize is a full-fisted blast of passion & innovation that sounds like the missing link between ‘95’s caustic, groundbreaking Demanufacture & ‘98’s texturally nuanced Obsolete.

Crushing & colossal, melding rhythms as fast & precise as Uzi blasts with vocals that pinwheel from raw & scathing to hauntingly melodic, Fear Factory are peaking - even the band’s industrial roots glimmer through its street-lethal metal sound.

Fear Factory were recently on our shores for the BIG DAY OUT & completed press for the new album including: Juice TV’s ‘The Metal Bar’, RNZ National, Rip It Up & bFM’s ‘Hard, Fast & Heavy’ show (NZ) - and they had one of the longest queues at the MySpace Signing Tent!

The single Powershifter has gone out to all bNet & Rock stations with play on ‘The Axe Attack’, ‘Hard, Fast & Heavy’ & ‘Cacophony’ shows. The full album will be serviced on release to bNets, Rock radio & select DJs with giveaways & promo on all of those shows mentioned above & others.
