One of Flying Nun Record’s first new signings, Grayson Gilmour, has teamed up with the relaunched label for his latest album No Constellation. Hailing from Palmerston North, Grayson Gilmour began his solo recordings at age 16. As one quarter of New Zealand band So So Modern, Grayson has spent the last years juggling between playing and recording with the band and his own ‘bedroom/studio recluse’ projects. No Constellation was written over the course of 2009, and recorded in various locales from bedrooms to studios to his mum’s house. All up, it is a culmination of ideas built up over the last two-years - much of which he spent touring overseas with So So Modern.
First single ‘Loose Change’ will be serviced for music television on May 10. Single ‘I Am a Light’ is released on May 6. Publicity schedule includes the Bnet stations, Kiwi FM, National Radio, Real Groove, Groove Guide, Rip it Up and all major daily newspapers.
