Boston born music group Willard Grant Conspiracy release their 9th album. The band operates as a loose collective that surrounds songwriter Robert Fisher - up to thirty musicians (from Massachusetts, Arizona, New York, London, Holland, and Japan depending on who can play, when the playing begins and where the tour ends ) contribute to the band, both in the studio and live.
Paper Covers Stone an album that sees Robert Fisher and a bare-bones band (featuring many of the earliest members) revisit their back catalogue - 13-years worth - and rework an album’s worth of material in more low-fi style that than in which it was (generally) first released.
Recorded over a two day marathon that yielded a bucket full of songs. Played in a changing format of solo/duo/trio and quartet arrangements, the recordings reflect the living room feel of the band’s early recordings.
The Aus/NZ edition features a bonus EP: Trunk In The Attic containing more songs recorded at the session, including some of Willard Grant Conspiracy’s finest compositions.
