Description

England has produced many of metal's best acts, whether it be the first real metal band in Black Sabbath, the genre-forwarding Judas Priest, or the shattering death metal of Carcass, but there have been few Brit metalcore bands to make any waves. Sheffield's intense, dynamic Bring Me The Horizon aim to change that.

SUICIDE SEASON states the case clearly. Intricately constructed and refreshingly unpredictable songs like the relentless "Chelsea Smile" and the stop-start riff-fest "Football Season is Over" are never generic, and instead provide a roller coaster for the ears. In addition, the album-closing title track takes unexpected turns over eight thrill-filled minutes.

Ranked #12 in Kerrang's Best Albums Of The Year 2008 -- "Perhaps one of the least expected victories of the year, BMTH swooped in with their brutal second album..."

4 stars "Good metalcore album"

Bring me the Horizon Suicide season suprised me a little. I initally bought the remix album (Suicide season: Cut up!) not hearing this album beforehand. I really like Suicide season cut up! so naturally figured I should give this album a go.

My initial thoughts when i listened to it was that it was more of an emo/screamo type album, which I still think it leans more in that direction rather than metalcore. The album has some killer riffs though, no dull moments and overall a good album.

Some standout tracks for me worth a listen are: Chelsea smile, death breath and suicide season.

If you are a fan of metalcore and screamo type music I would say this album would appeal. 4/5
