Description
Based on true events in 1884, Miike's epic tale tells of the rise to power of the despotic Lord Naritsugu Matsudaria. When his tyranny runs rampant, samurai Shinzaemon Shimada (Kōji Yakusho) is charged with ensuring Naritsugu’s bloody reign ends. "A must see film"
Japan has brought us another excellent film in 13 Assassins.
The structure, story and characters are excellent. The main antagonist in the film is one of the most evil and vile characters you will see in a film. While the 50 minute battle at the end of the film is an awesome pay off for the great build up the film gives you. It is a violent film so it is not for the squemish.
Do yourself a favour and watch this film.
