Androcles And The Lion

Based on the play by George Bernard Shaw, Androcles (Alan Young) is a simple Christian who follows his religious teaching, even where animals are involved. Seeing a lion in pain, Androcles removes a huge thorn from the beast's paw and thereby creates a friend for life. When Androcles and a group of his fellow Christian's are arrested by the Romans and condemned to death, his fate is to die by being fed to the lions in the Coliseum arena. But amongst the pack of lions is one who remembers the painful thorn in its paw.
