If you haven't seen this yet – where have you been?
Very briefly, this is the true story of one German's effort to save as many Jews as possible from the being exterminated during WWII at great personal risk. It focuses also on his relationship with his wife, other Germans and the dramatic change in his character during the war.
Shot in black in white, Spielberg uses odd spots of colour very cleverly to highlight important images and intensify the drain on your emotions – even I am man enough to admit my eyes water everytime I watch the film, especially the final scene.
Having read today in the NZ Herald that 11% of Britons believe the Hilter is a fictional character (!) I believe that this is a a film that should be compulsory viewing for all secondary students in NZ – we must never let events like the holocaust be forgotten about.
Schindler's List is at times very hard to watch but I would argue one it of the best films ever made.
Easily the best film about the holocaust you will ever see. Truly emotional and enlightening, this is one of the best films you will ever watch.
Great Story. Highly recommend this DVD to everyone. Oskar Schindler started out looking for one thing. Money. In the end, he found much more…A DVD for your library.
This is a brilliant film about one man, Oskar Scindler, who saves over 1,000 Jews from been killed. It's a touching movie. It's beautifully acted, skillfully directed all combined with a painfully marvelous music score by John Williams. It's one of those movies you assume everybody has watched because it is truly memorable. I recommended this to everyone in my History Class inclusing my teacher who had only heard of it and they were all very touched. Schindler's List is much more than a movie and a story, it's an experience to watch it. I recommend this to everyone, It will leave you with a wonderful feeling in the very end.
What a movie. Can bring a tear to the eye in parts. Well worth the watch..forget how lucky we are!
