5 stars "Fantastic Sci-Fi Film"

JJ Abrams, who directed the great Mission Impossible 3 trumps that effort with this fantastic reboot of the fabled Star Trek Franchise. He takes the story back to before Kirk and Spock meet using a time travel plot that opens up the franchise to take it in a new direction without the constraints of the older Star Trek Films/TV Shows. A stellar cast including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Bruce Greenwood, John Cho, Eric Bana and NZ's own Karl Urban take this film to critical acclaim and commercial success.
