Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street

Sweeney Todd has a tantalizing storyline with beautiful costumes and sets. The songs poetry make this the perfect musical that it is. As a massive Tim Burton fan I was expecting a great movie but it exceeded my expectations. The actors were picked perfectly (Helena Bonham carter and Jonny Depp) They work perfectly together and although they aren't singers they can sing just as good if not better than some celebrities. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys musicals because this is one musical you won't forget in a hurry.

Sweenet Todd is a musical film based on a stage musical which is loosely based on an old “Penny Dreadful” magazine story printed in the late 1800's which tells the tale of a Barber who's victims go in for a “bit off the sides” and are never seen of heard from again.

Tim Burton is still truly a genius and master of artful cinema and his screen adaption of “Sweenet Todd” is dark, funny and Bloody with a capital “B”!!!

Oh yeah, and there's lot's of singing too (obviously it's a musical) with the main actor's including Mr Depp himself showing their vocal talents.

Also features an amusing cameo role from Sacha (Borat) Baron Cohen!

Brilliant film adaption of the musical. It's gory and bloody (just like the stage musical) and Burton's style radiates through it. Well done cast and crew.

A gripping tale of revenge. The star-studded cast takes hold of its audience and delivers a cornucopia of horrorific yet almost jusifiable violence. A top grade film…

It's not a mainstream blockbuster, but if you are looking for something a bit different, this is worth your time.
The production is stunning, the story is odd (but in a good way)
The songs are not your typical musical numbers that you have come to expect from the types of Andrew Lloyd Webber etc, so that was interesting as well.
Actors are superb & quirky.
We loved it.
