This is a good cheap flash cart that lets you put music onto your DS. Some of the mini games that come with it dont work, but the cart lets you run all types of DS Homebrew.

Note that you cannot play pirated/copied/backup games using this cart.

Movie quality is similar to what you see during a typical piece of FMV on a DS game.

Audio quality is not great. I needed to encode the MP3 at 128kbps, which is fine, but the audio playback is slightly distorted.

The supplied games are unimpressive except for a Final Fantasy clone which is actually very well done.

Still, it's quite a neat tool for the hobbyist if you wanna do any kind of development for DS for fun, this will work.

The device will work as a replacement for Wifime if you want to run demo's from Nintendo Kisosks or tradeshows, but aside from that it's probably most suitable as a cheap video and audio player for children.

Cart ships with a trailer for Shrek 3 on the SD cart as a proof of concept, and from that you will find that video bandwidth is 1 minute per Megabyte. So yes, you can convert Nemo and it will fit on the supply SD card for those long car trips (or even the short ones).

Music playback is not the best. Seems to be limited to 128kbps MP3 and is slightly distorted with or without headphones being employed.

Video playback is the same as what you get with any DS cutscene, and the cart came with a trailer for Shrek 3 already installed as a proof of concept.

The pre-installed games are below par, the one exception being a Final Fantasy clone which looked promising.

Children who obviously don't care about video or audio quality will get a kick out of being able to watch NEMO wherever they are, and 25 so-so games is about what you get from any standalone game-in-1 device that kids still like.

The most useful homebrew app that I am aware of is a VoIP app that I believe works with Skype. The other great app, although I have never tested it for quality is a DS port of ScummVM, which will let you run a lot of old point-click adventure games (such as those which are now appearing for sale via Steam on the PC).

In summary, the cart will be most well received by children whereas adults will get more mileage out of the device via the homemade apps you will find online.

One more thing, the cart itself will act as a replacement for “Wifime” if you want to play DS demos that come from the kiosks or tradeshows.
