"Fun game with Bazzar characters."

Disgaea 3 is just one massive wacky fun ride with a caste of insane demon characters in a demon school with the core hero Mao wanting to overthrow his dad for destroying his video game system (seriously!).

This game has got seriously deep gameplay that'll keep you interested for a long time, 40 hours core story to play through before hitting end game where you'll learn more about Class World, Item World, Pirate runs and Leveling up to 9999 (if you so wish). There is simply alot todo and will keep any SRPG fans going for along time.

Graphically the game keeps to its roots with 2d sprite billboard rendered characters on simple 3d block based environment. Although not really using the ps3's cpu and gpu power, it uses its memory by having larger and higher maps then Disgaea 1/2 had on the ps2 and also by pretty much loading all of the game's assets at start up to ensure you don't have to deal with loading while you play.

The only real downside I found was the manual (esp the manual) and the in-game help is lacking. Stats aren't properly explained so you really need to figure out how they work, how much damage X amount of ATK gives etc. Geocube stacking is somewhat explained but I found I had to playaround for 30 minutes to get use to it.

if you like wacky characters, SRPGs or you're a disgaea fan already. Buy the game, you'll enjoy it.

(NOTE: story is standalone from Disgaea 1/2, hence disgaea 3 is accessable by SRPG fans that haven't played the 2 former titles).

"OMG too much to do!"
4 stars"

Great SRPG max level is 9999.

the bad: story is cheesey. last line of the story is to die for its just soo funny. graphics are retro and the game was made for ps2 in mind.

the good: main Story 10–40hrs Post Story/side quests: 200+hrs
I'm 104 hrs into the game with 4 characters at 9999 and the rest around 5000. I still can't live through a single swing of the post game boss.

I still have to do character ability leveling – class world item leveling/build – item world reverse item pirating for special abilities on items Dimension-X via pirate treasure maps and LOC or Land of carnage where every enemy is over the max level of 9999 and get an extra 1% bonus to their stats for each level over that, doesn't sound that bad but 1% ouf millions is alot but the items found there are apparently awesome.

great game multiple endings for some replay value and LOTS and I mean Lots of cameos and spoofs of tv series, movies, games. ranging from refs of fighting games to dbz the works.

"Best game on PS3"
5 stars"

This is one game that you must have! i got a ps3 just to play this game, that is how good it is. it is a srpg with 2d characters on a 3d backgroud (that is one of the major turnoffs for most people), but if you can play through that this is the game for you. it has uber leveling going all the way to 9999, then you can start from lvl 1 and go back to 9999 to get those stat boosts. a full 10/10.
