"Quite possibly the funniest action movie I have ever seen."

Django is an awesome movie, it brings together the amazing director ability of Quentin Tarantino's classic extreme blood splatter scenes with the timeless story of a black mans lucky rise from slavery and depression to the birth of his new life as a freeman. The movie is set mostly in the American south where black people had no rights and slavery was the only life available. It combines action, comedy, and a love story of Django's search for freedom, his lost love and his struggle against society to find who he is and his place in the world. The movie is full of amazing well polished actors who play their rolls well, making their characters larger than life. A must see movie.

Although the language used throughout the film is not my cup of tea, the story was epic. Witty characters, played by polished actors, and directed by the one and only Tarantino. I can see this movie getting a workout.

Description

Django Unchained

Two years before the Civil War, Django (Jamie Foxx), a slave, finds himself accompanying an unorthodox German bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) on a mission to capture the vicious Brittle brothers. Their mission successful, Schultz frees Django, and together they hunt the South's most-wanted criminals. Their travels take them to the infamous plantation of shady Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), where Django's long-lost wife (Kerry Washington) is still a slave.

Critic Reviews:

  • " Tarantino designed this revisionist western to blow people's gaskets. Packed with physical comedy, bloody action and hell-bent revenge, it looks like a classic widescreen Sergio Leone western… " – Anne Thompson
  • " A good film, and a crazily entertaining film, until Tarantino does blow everything up, at which point it just becomes rather silly. " – Deborah Ross
  • " Django Unchained is a ruthless and romantic epic that is also filled with unbridled entertainment that challenges audiences, rather than coddling them. " – Candice Frederick
