As soon as the Dalek Talking Desk Protector detects motion, he will say 1 of 4 phrases. Position the Dalek facing the area you wish him to guard and he will detect motion from approx 6 to 9-feet away (1.8 to 2.7 metres).

The Dalek was bigger than expected and sure looks the part. Limited number of phrases unfortunately. Well constructed and a welcome edition to any Dr Who fan's collection.
