"If I could give it six stars , I would ."

I have read the book , and this movie follows the book as close as possible . The cast is also the best possible , and just where they got a kid to play Ender is another example of the brilliant casting for this movie . It is a movie not to be missed !!

"Aliens on a smallish screen"
4 stars"

The film pits earthlings against a bunch of arrogant aliens. Or is it aliens against arrogant earthlings- Kids are the heroes and exterminate the baddies. Or do they- Its a great story. The book is easier to follow and much more inventive. But the mission can be completed faster using the DVD.

Description

Ender's Game

When hostile aliens called the Formics attack Earth, only the legendary heroics of Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley) manage to attain a victory. To prepare for the next attack, Col. Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and his cohorts initiate a military program to find the next Mazer. Recruit Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) exhibits an unusual gift for the training, easily mastering all of the challenges thrown at him. Mazer Rackham, himself, takes Ender as a protege to prepare him for the oncoming war.

Critic Reviews:

  • " Starship Troopers, Alien, Tron, and Star Trek also make up the movie's DNA but the story – a provocative study about the morality of warfare and conflicts of leadership – injects something powerful and new into the familiar ‘chosen one’ plot trajectory. " – Larushka Ivan-Zadeh
  • " While the picture loses some plot tension by assuring the viewer that Ender is basically an okay kid, it gains by showing the growth of the boy into his destiny as “the One.” " – Richard Corliss
  • " A carefully constructed, serious-minded commercial entertainment that treats its young audience with an unusual degree of intelligence. " – Guy Lodge
