Play Arts Kai are great at making video game figures, when I first saw the package, it looked so cool that I didn't even want to open it and keep it in the display box but I had to examine Lightning and see what she was like when displayed.
It features two extra hands (closed and open), a stand for display in air and two weapons, her gunblade and in its sword form. At first the knee-joints are quite ugly to look at but you get over it and at least it means more articulation. She can move her arms, hands, head, waist, cape, legs, knees and even her foot. Great for many display poses. Her clothes, cape and shoulder pad has a nice rubber feel. It doesn't feel easily to break and her weapons are nicely detailed. The stand can be odd and awkward to use but its a nice feature to add when you want to pose.
Great figure that displays in my room and looks tall compared to my other figures. Good for collectors or figures to display. I feel like grabbing the other characters but I only got Lightning as she is my favourite character.
Nicely done features but she's taller than my Cloud :( But I suppose they had to make her sized proportionally to Odin, which I also have. She's just tall enough to hold Odin's blades. I liked the details put into her gunblade as well. Definitely recommended! Just have to put her further away from my playarts figures from other final fantasy series.
I must say that this figure has a lot to offer. Its not everything that I had expected but it does cover most of my expectations. It has good articulation points but her knee joints are kinda beyond noticeable but can be ignored with enough will power. Her hand changes are good and her gun and sword accessories are very cool. Easy to attach to open hand and the gun can be stored in back pouch. Very closely resembles her game counterpart. A great addition to any figurine collection. :)
Great detail, made from great materials and I love how you can move the
joints around. This kind of action figure will last a life time and won't break
that easily. It was surprising that you could change the hands and how Lightning
has a sword to put in the socket behind her and a sword to hold infront of
her.
Every dollar is worth it :)
Kai arts are fantastic for detail, articulation and mobility and the
lightning play arts is no exception. One thing you'll notice quite strange
straight out of the box is the face, it's either you love it or you hate it.
FF13 kai arts always have something strange with faces, as if something that is
amiss. But this is quickly overlooked by the sheer amount of detail in this
figure. Another noticeable minor annoyance is the elbow joint, crap to look at
but moves like a charm.
The stand is pure crap on a stick as with all other FF13 kai arts so you'll be
mostly trying to find a stable pose which doesn't knock her over when the wind
blows. She comes with 2 blades in different forms, a gun/packed form and a
sword form which are quite excellent, especially the gun form as she can
actually wield is or pack it up with a few shifts of some movable parts.
Pretty much a really good figure to start off with if you're intrigued in play
arts or if you're starting off collecting figures.
Arrived not long ago and just opened it to play around with it. Awesome figure made with high quality material, clothes and her cape are made from rubber which is gives great feel to the figure.
Overall, awesome figure. Picked up Snow and waiting for it to arrive as well.
Lightning is a great character and this replica is very detailed and the quality is excellent. Definitely worth getting. Highly recommended for Final Fantasy fans and collectors!
You really do get what you pay for with Lightning. The make of the action figure is extremely accurate. I'm not too sure on its wear and tear since I won't be opening it but it definitely a must have if your wanting to collect these badboys (or badgirls =)
Regret not buying this when it was on daily special. Didnt realise it was a
kai version hope it goes on daily special again.
Will pick up for sure
My friend absolutely loved it, him being a fan of FF.
