Back in 1986, a track was released with an infectious lyric. Fast forward over 25 years and this message from Marshall Jefferson has never been more relevant and reflective of today’s musical spectrum. Ministry of Sound proudly presents; ‘Gotta Have House Music, All Night Long’.
After huge chart hits from Disclosure, Duke Dumont, Storm Queen, Chris Malinchak, Breach, Klangkarrusell, Ben Pearce, Faul & Wad Ad, Kiesza, Mr. Probz and Route 94, house music is once again at the height of its peak and it therefore only seems right to pay homage to where it all began by chronicling the biggest tunes in House Music’s history right up to the present day.
We kick off with the epic ‘I Wanna Feel’ from SecondCity, which looks set to be this summer’s biggest dance hit before moving into a fusion of classic anthems from Kings of Tomorrow, Maurice, Pete Heller and George Morel amongst modern day smashes from Ben Pearce, MK, Klangkarussell and Tensnake. CD2 starts with the legendary ‘Your Love’ from the godfather of house Frankie Knuckles, we then venture through the future hit ‘It’s You’ from FCL, the huge #1 record from Storm Queen and the ‘original house music anthem’ ‘Move Your Body’ from Marshall Jefferson and end in a plethora of seminal records from Royal House, Aly-Us and CJ Bolland. Last but not least we end our journey on CD3 with one of this year’s biggest tracks in ‘My Love’ from Route 94 alongside the huge new single ‘Always’ from MK and end with tracks from Duke Dumont, Gorgon City, Steve Silk Hurley, The Bucketheads and loads more.
