"Good game.. Wish it was longer"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game is pretty good but takes awhile to get interesting while playing campaign. I wish it was longer though as it got really interesting near the end and then just ended so quickly leaving so much open but other than that it is a pretty good campaign, especially for a smaller game company, they did do a pretty good job overall with the game.

Multiplayer is pretty cool, just like any other fps such as COD, Battlefield Bad Company 2 etc. Apart from the lag it's pretty fun and should keep you entertained for awhile with cool perks and gun unlocks as well as the ability like Battlefield Bad Company 2 to unlock and use vehicles such as tanks, helicopters etc.

I do hope that they make a Homefront 2 so that the game is able to continue from where it left off and hopefully with a longer campaign too.

"Good game"

The game is good like it. But the single player is too short. Wish it was longer. I finished the single player in one day!

But if there is Homefront 2 I will buy it :) Would like to finish the war the save the world :p

"Way better than the last 4 call of Duty games combined"
4 stars"

When this was first announced I was indifferent as I did not like the predecessor from this Studio – Frontlines. And as others said, did we really need another FPS game when the market is saturated in them?

But Gameplay footage reminded me of Ghost recon.

As time went by and New footage was shown, I liked the idea that this game was a modern retelling of one of my favourite cult movies as a kid – Red Dawn. Written by John Milius who wrote Red Dawn, the single player campaign is a little short but a hell of a lot of fun.

And the Multiplayer is much more balanced and fair than Call of Duty's has become since game breaking perks were introduced with Modern Warfare 1.

Yes the servers had major issues when the game was launched, but these were patched a week after release and now the servers run great.

The multiplayer on Home front is fast paced and forces teams to work together and work tactically.

Best quotes heard while playing MP: “Wow this is harder than Call of Duty!” “42 assist 0 kills. YEAH!!!”

"Not as good as he should have been."
3 stars"

I bought the tie-in book a few weeks ago and loved it. It was incredibly engrossing and really showed how terrible the world was both before and after the Korean invasion.

Homefront the game on the other hand…wasn't. The gameplay was like just about every other FPS in the genre. The graphics weren't that good, but not as bad as some other games. And like just about every other FPS, the main game is about five hours long.

The bes thing I liked about this game was the universe. It starts off similar to Half-Life, with a bus ride along a street seeing people being torn away from their families, people shot on the side of the street, Korean soldiers beating random civilians, etc. An unlike just about every FPS out there, it was disturbing at how both disturbing and how emotionally engaging it was.

I hope there is a sequel that delves muuuuch more into the universe (As well as muuuch longer). In the end, get it on special if you also enjoy multiplayer (Which I never played), or rent it for the single player.

"Not Good"

It totally was not how it was milked online with snipits and gameplay, They could of made the game a whole lot better although the storyline was decent it leaves me with the thought that I must get the next one to see how it ends.

"Yeah, but Nah"
2 stars"

Fair enough, its not out yet, but do we really want ANOTHER FPS game out? It just looks like another Modern Warfare 2, itll be the same as Bad company 2 or Black Ops or Medal of Honor. Everyone will just get it because its new, and yeah for the first hour you'll have fun, but after a few days? Its just another FPS. Dont get this. Save your money.

"Disappointing"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

before going out and spending your hard earned cash on this game..be warned. The gameplay starts off very slowly and gradually reaches a pitch that is quite enjoyable but them ..it ends. Its an incredibly short game lasting only a few hours at the outside…expensive in this day and age. The multiplayer looks ok but server lags. I would be inclined to hire this game before going out and buying it. There is scope for a homefront 2 but it would need to be a lot better than this before I would consider buying it

"Adventures in an unrecognizable future"
4 stars"

The year is 2027. The world has suffered a decade-long energy crisis, and economies have crumbled. Reduced to a mere shadow of the super power it once was, the United States became the target of a North Korean takeover. American malls, suburbs and city streets are now battlegrounds as the civilian resistance fights for freedom. Featuring a compelling single player story crafted by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn), Homefront immerses gamers in an interactive and cinematic FPS experience where they will assume an infantry role or take command of a wide variety of aerial and ground vehicles. In addition to the single-player experience, Homefront will deliver a robust multiplayer experience. In a land stripped of freedom, the brave will fight for their home.

"Not what it's cracked up to be."
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I wasnt goin to buy this, but after much consideration thought what the heck. The single player aspect of the game wasn't to bad at all…What killed it for me was the multiplayer side of Homefront. Lagfest anyone- The only way at first to get a lag free game was to set a large party and search a 16 player game mode called “skirmish”,that is until they “THQ” decided that was opening the door for boosters and shut it down…So,in my opinion game when its smooth was o.k. at best. But I'd hire it before deciding to spend your hard earned cash on it.

I'm back to tell you that after ages of owning this game i finally decided to play it again, and what i found amazed me. the lag is virtually gone, even in american rooms..

Good game, a little on the short side but was quite enjoyable

"A decent shooter, that's about it."
1 stars"

I got this when it came out in 2011 when I was in that mode of “got to get em' all” games. An average shooter made from the people who brought out the mediocre Frontlines: Fuel of War, at best surrounded on all sides with more serious offerings.

"If you love Doomsday movies you will love Homefront"

Good fun, mission oriented, only problem was I wish it could have lasted longer

"Good while it lasts"

Purchased on Mighty Ape

Whilst the graphics seem rather dated already this game still shines through at times. The story starts off well but after a few missions becomes a bit too grandiose for the premise of the game. Culminating in a seemingly pointless battle for the golden gate bridge. Multi-player is laggy and felt rather glitchy, but this is due to most people having moved on to newer games and whats left of the player base being largely offshore. In summary, if you get it on a cheap daily deal pick it up, otherwise give it a miss or just rent it.

"So much potential"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

And that will be it.

Homefront has an exiting story (Makes me remember Freedom Fighter :D) but it fails in execution so bad that gets boring around the middle of it.

Invisible walls everywhere, stupid AI from both sides, linear story and repetitive enemies and mechanics.

The end is as abvious as it could get. You can see that dev where gettin to some very exiting game but THQ greediness turns it in a waste of time and $$$.

Mighty Ape delivery and service in the other hand was perfect just like always ;-)

"Very Realistic"

This game is very realistic, get shot once, you die. My brother who is a game fan of this genre, gave up playing! He told me is wasn't a bad game, so give it an average.

"Oorah."

The online aspect of this game is awesome when there is a good balance of skill. Campaign is a bit flat, I'm sick of glorifying the “good nature” of America.

"Cliff hanger"

Game was totally great, really enjoyed it. But it just sort of stopped. Like, the story didn't really end.

Multiplayer was top notch

"Good value first person shooter"

This game had a rather desent multiplayer, and different to the same old call of duty. Definately worth playing and now at cheap price!

After all the hype that there was about this game, you'd expect something great but this game really doesn't live upto my expectations.

"One sweet game .. "
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This must be one of the hardest FPS games I have played in a long time .. and what good fun it was .. took me 3 days to kick it in the teeth ..

This game is not for sensitive people .. the story that play out during game play is really hard core stuff .. its very close to home if you think about it . But this is a must play for any FPS addict like me .. its hard and sweet in one go .. and I learned a few new words to ..lol not to be repeated in public ..

So all in all a damn good game in my eyes .. so grab it and start learning new word today .. lol .

"Good game"

The gameplay, story line and graphics are all pretty good but the campaign is very short and the online servers are horrible. Better to rent this game then to buy it.

"Up to u"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Ok like campaign is um well short 2 hours on hard is my time so its short. Story wise good but again short and not much of a ending. This game has a massive focus on multiplayer. The controls are right put of C.O.D black opps and has kinda the same style of damage taken per shot but this is on a huge scale massive maps make me feel small and the use of in game purchases like vehicles is good all in all good online but if u do not plan on playing this game online dnt buy it

"Check point save, auto health regen, respawn."
2 stars"

I didn’t play it very long (and only single player) but from what little I did see the gameplay seems identical to shooters like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor; highly scripted, very linear with set piece battles and nonstop, intense action. I get very bored with this very quickly. It seems like a well made game but there are just too many things about it that I hate. It uses the checkpoint save system (which I hate), auto health regen (which I hate) a big blue X in the bottom middle of the screen prompting you to reload (which I hate), and respawn (which I loath more than anything in the universe).

I really liked the plot (which doesn’t seem so implausible after watching the opening movie) and I loved the run down, derelict locations. The graphics are good but they’re obviously not going to be crisp and high res on the 360. The weapons and gunplay are done well. The NPCs act amazingly lifelike and the voice work is excellent. So there is a lot to admire about the game, I just don’t find this kind of gameplay very much fun. I prefer old skool shooters that let you take your time, give you large areas to explore and not to mention let you save where you want and have to heal yourself somehow when you get hurt. I don’t like the constant go, go, go of modern shooters. I don’t like always having team mates who constantly bug you to keep up and get moving. I don’t like the frequent set piece battles where the enemies constantly respawn until you move forward and take some objective or something.

"Single player over in a night..."

This game does quite live up what it could, the single player is too short and end abruptly, the graphics could have had some more love. Story line is cool however and it is great to see a game challenging the norm, USA in disarray.

"Luckily, I didn't buy it at full price."

The single player campaign is ok and there has been no-one playing it online when I've logged on. The game has a great idea and some really big set pieces; unfortunately the small details haven't been done well. Getting stuck on small objects was my biggest irritation.

"Fantastic Game, Bad Servers"

Homefront is an extraordinary game with fantastic gameplay, lighting and graphics. With an incredible new plot. Only problem i have are the servers. It is always lagging, prehaps they should think about an australasian server?
