We would watch this film again because it is so well crafted and the storyline is excellent. The French do seem to make such great films always.

Kristen Scott Thomas and Jean Pierre Bacri draw you in to the story and take you on their (sometimes painful) journey. Its a great ride.
Looking For Hortense is a 2012 French comedy drama on DVD.
Looking for Hortense is a bittersweet comedie de moeurs that is French in spirit but universal in appeal. It tells the story of Damien (Jean-Pierre Bacri), a professor of Chinese civilization, and his wife, Iva (Kristin Scott Thomas). Their marriage has turned stale and the only thing they share is the care of their son No, a precocious child going through a pre-teen crisis. Damien also has a dysfunctional relationship with his father (Claude Rich), a high-ranking state judge. When Iva asks Damien to speak to his father on behalf of a woman facing deportation, he is loath to ask for help, but when Damien meets the lovely Zorica (Isabelle Carr), the legalities quickly become more personal. Through Zorica, Damien discovers a long forgotten desire and a way to finally grow up.
Looking For Hortense Movie Reviews
“There's a dream-like quality to this nimble-footed tale, in which coincidences, repetitions and digressions abound, and where various characters appear seemingly magically within scenes.” The List
“Jean-Pierre Bacri gives a pitch perfect performance as an academic who understands the cultural minutiae of the Orient, but cannot fathom his own loved ones.” Sky Movies
*“It's like a Haneke plot turned into a comforting boulevard play, but it's subtly observed and extremely well acted …” Observer
