Description

Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version games lets players continue to enjoy the world of Pokémon away from their Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi systems, taking their favorite Pokémon with them wherever they go with the new Pokéwalker accessory. This new accessory will come included with each copy of these games.

In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, players can wirelessly transfer any one of their Pokémon from one of the two games to the Pokéwalker and walk them through virtual routes as the player walks around in real life. By walking, players earn Watts, which are used within the Pokéwalker to encounter and catch wild Pokémon or search for hidden items, and can be transferred into Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions to unlock new routes. There are even special versions of certain Pokémon that can only be found within routes on the Pokéwalker, giving players added incentive to keep their Pokémon with them wherever they go. The Pokémon in the Pokéwalker will gain experience points as the player walks, and can even go up one level when they are transferred back into the game. Players also can wirelessly connect two Pokéwalkers to trade items.

Letting players return to the beloved Johto region first introduced in Pokémon Gold Version and Silver Version for the portable Game Boy system, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions introduce several new enhancements for the series that enrich these timeless adventures. Created exclusively for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems, the games feature detailed graphics that spotlight the unique environments and hundreds of Pokémon that players can encounter and catch. Players can even see and interact with their favorite Pokémon outside of battle, selecting one from their team to follow behind their Trainer as they travel through the Johto region. The games also include robust touch-screen functionality, allowing for smoother control and seamless navigation by the player.

5 stars "Did Nintendo make Platinum just so HeartGold could outshine it?"

All of us old Pokemon players will remember Pokemon Gold and Silver from years ago, released on the GBC. The memories I had on there were lost when my Gold's battery ran dry.

Now we can play Gold and Silver again, improved to the new standard. Updated with better graphics, the new pokemon and moves, and compatibility with Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. There are also a lot of new changes that really make HeartGold and SoulSilver shine.

Now the first Pokemon in your party follows you, it's pointless, yes, but is quite cute. There is a new wireless device called the Pokewalker, which is a pedometer which gives your Pokemon experience points while you walk.

You can get the original legendaries in the game, meaning Ho-oh, Lugia, Raikou, Entei and Suicune. There are also a lot of new additions, you can get Kyogre or Groudon in HeartGold or SoulSilver respectively and if you trade both of them onto one game you can get a Rayquaza!

You can get a Lv1 Dialga, Palkia or Giratina with a special event Arceus. The legendary birds and Mewtwo from Kanto are also in the game. The last mentions are Latias and Latios, who can be found roaming about, like the legendary dogs.

The PokeGear is back, and so is the phone system. Now you can rematch trainers you've battled before if they call you. The Battle Frontier from Platinum is in this game, copied almost exactly from Platinum.

This is a great game, for those who have played Gold or Silver or for those who haven't. HeartGold and SoulSilver are amazing additions to the Pokemon series. When you can't think of anything wrong with the games, you start to wonder how Nintendo would ever top these games.

5 stars "WOW!!!!"

I thought this game was going to be the same old catch and battle as the rest of the series and it was but it had… more. The game was just amazing this out shined pokemon platinum even though Johto (the reason in which the game is set) has already been visited it had so many new elements that I was glued to my DS for days and whenever I pick it up I still can't put it down.

5 stars "Must have for DS owners."

If you own a nintendo DS, then the pokemon games are a must have for you. And as far as pokemon games go this one is the best. It is based on the first two regions, Johto and Kanto, yet it has functionality built in for all previous DS and GBA pokemon games.

You can use the pal park to move GBA (fire red, ruby etc) pokemon to your DS game, and you can trade with other DS games such as Diamond and Platinum. Gameplay wise, pokemon is said to be a turn based strategy game, and it plays like one too. As your pokemon grow they learn new attacks, and you can even give them items which have different effects.

One of the best strengths of any pokemon game is how much fun it is for people of any age. The story is simple, and even older teenagers will enjoy training the perfect pokemon to beat their friends team.
If you don't own a DS, this game will definitely sway you if you're on the fence.

5 stars "Its a must have"

Gameplay: 10/10

To start of with if you have ever played any of the pokemon games and liked it this is for you what I liked is how the pokemon was more closer to you by it folowing you like in pokemon yellow and how when your not playing you can still have your pokemon with you by having the pokemon walker with you plus you get stuff for the game like items and exp.
The story line is great and keeps you playing I would have to say its a must have for any ds owner

Graphics: 8/10

The Graphics are nothing new but I do think the gyms look awesome but the main thing for pokemon is the gameplay but it would be cool if it looked like mario ds that would blow my mind

Sound: 5/10

Pokemon hasent made thier sound better for years but it still is good but after playing it for awile you just block it out.
I hope they make the pokemon make sound like pokemon that would make it cooler

Replay Value: 10/10

You could play this game over and over again its a blast I cant think of a game I would want to play more than twice other than this

Final Verdict:

Over all its one of the best games ever made by nintendo if you like a good game this is for you!
