Description

*Remotes sold separately

Developed by SANYO and using the latest in electromagnetic inductive technology, the Wii Remote Charging System can charge up to two Wii Remotes without the hassle of removing protective silicone covers or Wii MotionPlus.

Originating from the concept of looping energy and featuring a stylish, flexible design, the charger makes use of SANYO's eneloop battery, which has garnered market appraisal for its unique, user-friendly combination of both dry cell and rechargeable battery properties. The batteries come pre-charged like a dry cell, and are economical and environmental as they can be recharged hundreds of times, effectively replacing thousands of alkaline batteries. Promoting a “lifestyle that values reusing and recycling,” contrary to the popular “use and throw away,” the Wii Remote Charging System continues the “eneloop” brand vision of being environmentally friendly through reusable products.

The main advantage of the eneloop battery is its extremely low self-discharge. Once charged, after one-year of storage time, eneloop batteries are able to retain 85% of their initial charge, while conventional NiMH batteries lose 50%. Even after three years of storage time, eneloop batteries continue to retain 75% of their initial capacity whereas NiMH batteries would have no capacity left after two years. Coupled with the ability to recharge and re-use over and over again, low self-discharge makes “eneloop” batteries the perfect choice for long-term intermittent use.

Made under license from Nintendo, meeting the company's requirements for safety and dependability, the system also includes built-in charge failure detection functionality. Charging will automatically stop if metal pieces such as coins interrupt the contact between the Wii Remote battery pack and the charge stand, ensuring a high level of safety for gamers of all ages.
