Have had this since beta release and it is completely what you would expect from ED, a complete and complex sim.
It follows on from Black Shark in terms of level of detail and will satisfy those that want to get the full experience of an A10c.
This will take hundreds of hours to learn and master and the satisfaction you get from a successful laser guided bomb drop from 20k ft is immense. How ever there are a few teething troubles with the software and a number of bugs that need to be squashed.
It is not perfect, but it is excellent for what it is, and can only improve.
It is a good idea to have a good/late model CPU as it is demanding and relies on
that more than the GPU. Works best on win 7 but other O/S are supported. That
said XP users will need to tweak their systems page file sizing to run it.
If you want to know more check out the forum section of the DCS website. lots of
community support and info there.
Go ugly, early !
Unfortunately it doesn't install on 32 bit systems… However that's a great incentive to upgrade to a 64 bit kick ass gaming system ;>
Yes it is as good as it looks and will require a fairly grunty pc to run it though .Don't expect to be blowing things up straight away though . Read the manual and set up your controls in simulation mode for the training missions as the game controls wont work for training missions . Graphics are very nice and flight controls are very good .This is an excellent sim and once you get the hang of how the targeting system works you will get great satisfaction out of dropping a bomb on your target
This sim has definitely raised the bar since DCS Black Shark, and sustains the extremely detailed systems simulation and flight physics modelling. Improved graphics are an added bonus, although they can chew up your frame rate if you aren't careful. I would highly recommend ALL DCS simulations, and am eagerly awaiting the next installment.
