“It may not be the Dungeon Siege you remember, but this stunning, story-driven co-op dungeon crawler is entertaining just the same.” PC Gamer
If all you want from an RPG is great visuals and a dialogue with NPC's that really draw you into the storyline; then this is one of the best on the market atm. But if you want to have a reasonable camera control in your game, and have a bit of space to go exploring ect; then forget this game. DS 1 was the best. A linear storyline with non-linear spaces to explore. DS 2 became a bit linear in storyline and explorability, with slightly improved graphics. DS 3 has the wow factor in gfx and when you follow the chatting with the NPC's it really draws you into the game. But with replaying this game a couple of times this does not begin to even mask the lineararity of the game play. The respawning of the mobs helps a little, but not a heck of a lot. I give 3 stars, and feel I am generous in that.
This was a big let down from DS2, a bit like NWN2. It is a very pretty game and the graphics are brilliant but you go very much from A to B to C without venturing much off the main quest track. There are other quests but again they are not far off track. The monsters are pretty tough as the fighter but you get through the game fairly quickly. It was a good 25 hours of gameplay but it could of been sooo much better, what a shame.
Played it for about 10 minutes and then uninstalled it. The controls are terrible and unintuitive. Maybe they work better on consoles but they've ruined things on the pc in the process. Viewing angles are too tight and restrictive so half the time you are getting killed by npcs you can't even see. Overall there are better games and unless you can get it for under $20 its not even worth looking at.
Witcher II would be a much better proposition if you want a great rpg with rich storyline and exciting gameplay.
There is a bit of hate going around about this title but I am not sure why. It is what its is a fun diablo hack and slash with an above average story. It is better than dragon age 2. But it does start to feel a bit linear after a while.
Having just recently played the Dungeon Siege 3 demo I am impressed with the combat system, the new leveling and talent based skill system and the overall sparkle of the game. It brings me back to Dungeon Siege rather than Dungeon Siege 2, where I found DS2 to have a little more ‘clutter’ than the original. Obsidian have delivered a smack partnered with Square Enix just the same as I'd have expected had Gas Powered Games continued. If the demo is anything to go by, the full version will be absolutely superb. I'd rate 4.5/5 if I could.
