5 stars "Excellent Western style RPGs"

This collection is worth it just for Fallout 1 and 2 – they're the clear stars of the pack. Fallout 1 and 2 are absolutely incredible from start to finish. The most important part of either of these games is the character creation – depending on the character you make and the style of game you want to play, the game will be different every time. You can pump up your strength and use melee weapons like sledge hammers and power fists, or pump up your intelligence and talk your way out of situations, you can be an agile thief or a perceptive sniper, or combinations of the above. You are also peppered with good and evil choices through the game, all of which actually matter in the short AND the long term. Because of this, multiple playthroughs are just as fun as the first time around. The combat, although turn based, is exciting and full of suspense, and made incredibly fun to watch with the game's extreme gore and violence. People and animals alike are ripped to shreds by explosions, lasers and bullets. Limbs and organs are scattered across the areas after fights. There is even an a perk you can choose to have at the start of the game which makes the deaths even more likely to be ultraviolent.

Because of this, and many other controversial topics the game covers, it is definitely NOT intended for kids. It is a clever, adult game from start to finish.

Fallout Tactics, although better looking, is more for fans of tactical games like Final Fantasy Tactics. It's much more linear and in my opinion is the weakest of the bunch.

All three games share the same setting, a post apocalyptic future, but it is like a post apocalyptic future as imagined in the 1950's. The setting is one of the strongest points in the game, it is very gritty and foreboding.

Fallout 1 and 2 are some of the best RPG games – even some of the best games of all time, and should secure a place in your “must play” list…

5 stars "War...War never changes."

Fallout 3 is well known and loved in the gaming industry, but the original Fallout was what brought the vaults and nuclear apocalypse theme to its glory.

The Fallout series have great RPG elements and a great feel to it. With good diologue options and the choice to choose your path to get what you want makes them a true classic. The combat system in Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics is birds eye view, relies on the VATS system, and can be real time or turn based depending on what you like.

Storywise they are decent, but the world is what it's really all about, and what you make of it. I great series to get into, and makes you think about what may become of the real world if a nuclear war breaks out.

5 stars "Excellent replay value!"

Just finished playing the latest installment of Fallout (3). What a tremendous game…a massive improvement from the previous fallout series but somehow I missed the old format as well.

Got me this collection and set to play it again…guess what? I really. really enjoyed my labor weekend! What a nostalgic trip. After all this time…it must surely be more than 10 years or so when I last played it and it still gave me tremendous gameplay value add to it it's unique humour and wit! Definitely a classic and well worth money spent.

Initially I had my teenaged neice and nephew who were staying over for the weekend peering at my back while I started playing Fallout 2, but a couple of hours later they had Fallout Tactics up and running on my other computer… suffice to say it was around 3AM when we finally called it a day…they enjoyed it so much that they ended up PERMANENTLY borrowing my collection!!! Brilliant!!!

5 stars "All time best"

Fallout 1 and 2 are my favourite games of all time. Both with a solid main storyline with plenty of things you could do on the side. They use a role-playing system called (S.P.E.C.I.A.L) with unique perks, which made the games highly replayable. Definitely a classic that any PC gamer should pick up, especially for the low price it's at now. Fallout Tactics is the least enjoyable of the three, as it only involves using the game's turn-based fight system, with basically no role-play component, but it's not too shabby either.

Fallout is just packed full of humour, awesome atmosphere, and an incredible roleplay system. It was THE game that got me into PC gaming in the 1st place. I really cannot say more about what a great game this is.

5 stars "Priceless"

These games are classics, great value. I would have bought it for twice the price. The original Fallout series was ground breaking. re-live the experience with this amazing collection! these games age well, its fun to go back and replay great story lines such as these. Fallout and Fallout 2 would have to stand out the most.
