I have no complaints about this game on the game itself. Its fun, the cars look good, the ai drives fairly well (altho there is some “rubberbanding”) and its good old fashioned smashing cars up.
The forced windows live sign up is a pig, the DRM which stated I had the wrong disk in the drive and refused to run, the lack of support on the website, and the fact that a rootkit was installed and nuked my install of windows xp.
Luckily i got this fixed by a no DVD crack, ironic I had to do this considering i have already paid for the game.
DRM is going to be the death of the pc gaming industry.
This is one game you can rely on to have Ultimate Fun. This gives the quote “Burning Rubber” to a whole new level. This game involves racing and just hard out demolition derbies. With it's great graphics and life time realistic reactions and damage it is a great game. With lots of carnage and mayhem even through races it makes it challenging to drive straight when all of these crazy AI drivers keep bumping and ramming you off the road. Great game A++. Highly Recommended for all of you Nutters out there. 5/5
Flatout: Ultimate Carnage is a great fun game. I have played both the
previous outings in FO and FO2, and see this more as an evolution of FO2 than a
new game entirely. THAT isn't a bad thing – all the goodness of FO2 is still
here, plus some – nicer graphics, nicer sounds, nicer lot of extras.
Even when you take into consideration that a lot of the levels are rehashed from
FO2, the extra power-ups, levels, and game-types more than makes up for the fact
that most aren't all-new levels.
Overall, I give this a 9.5/10, and would highly recommend to all.
