Description

Star Wars Battlefront II takes the best-selling Star Wars video game one Imperial-walker step forward with all-new space combat, playable Jedi, and never-before-seen environments straight out of the Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith film. Fans of the original Star Wars Battlefront will also enjoy an all-new single-player experience that takes players through an epic, story-based saga where every action the player takes impacts the battlefront and, ultimately, the fate of the Star Wars galaxy. Critically acclaimed Pandemic Studios is once again developing the game for LucasArts.

  • Star Wars Battlefront II improves upon the original game's single-player experience with open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films. The compelling storyline spans more than 12 new locations, many from Episode III, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. All-new classic movie moments complete the Star Wars Battlefront II experience, as players battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia’s blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope. In addition, at certain key moments within the battles, players can feel the Force as a Jedi.
  • For the first time ever, Star Wars Battlefront II players can engage in space combat and, during the same battle, board enemy ships to attack from within. Starting on foot inside a capital ship, players can enter the spacecraft of their choice and travel into space to dogfight with the rival faction. From there, they can dock within the enemy's capital ship, overtake the ship's command posts, man its turrets to disable its shields and destroy it from within! Or, they can simply stay inside their own capital ship and defend it from attacks and enemy fire. The choice is theirs.
  • The stellar online play that marked the original Star Wars Battlefront returns even bigger and better for Star Wars Battlefront II. Players can locate their buddies and track their stats as they battle alongside more players than ever (up to 24 on PS2, 32 on Xbox, 64 on Windows).

5 stars "--The Force Is Strong With This One--"

Don't be fooled into believing Battlefront 2 is more suited towards multiplayer. Not only is there a large campaign mode, which follows a group of Clone Troopers all the way from the end of the Clone Wars up until Empire Strikes Back, but there's also a strategic Conquer the Galaxy mode. In this mode, you choose which ever side you want: The Separatists, The Republic, The Empire or The Rebels, and move from planet to planet, invading and defending various territory. And although the core of the game is first/third person shooter ground missions, there are also plenty of intense space battles along the way.

And what happens when you complete all that? You still have plenty of mission points to gain for your player profile, which unlock special weapons and bonuses that you can use in battles.

To be honest, there's not much I can find wrong with it. With the above modes it's a decent length, the graphics aren't bad, all the memorable characters and vehicles are there, the ground battles are very entertaining and the space battles are spectacular…well, aside from having to bomb an enemy command ship's critical systems over and over to win most space battles, which can get a little tedious after a while. But even if you get bored of that, just fly into their hangar, run around their ship and bring them down from the inside.

Basically, this is a very well designed, entertaining game, whether you are a Star Wars fan or not.

4 stars "Well done"

If you enjoy games like Battlefield 2 but found it a little too difficult, you will enjoy this. As already mentioned the medals system is a great improvement. Achieve medals in certain areas and you can gain a reward once you have done this at least 4 times. Go right up to 64 or legendary status and you will keep your rewards for all your single-player games. The heroes aren't too bad, might be nice to have few more force powers for Jedi like force throw etc. Space battles are Ok, especially the fact that you can go inside for sabotage. As mentioned it would be good if you could control the frigates, star destroyers and cruisers as you would in the Battlefield series. Would love to use one to blow up an entire planet, like Malak did in Knights of the Old Republic.

5 stars "THIS GAME!"

BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT
Doesn't matter if u have seen the films or not,its fantastic for any member of the younger generation you can mod this game and add so many cool maps and weapons. It's a little rough around the edges sure, but that doesn't matter when you're focused on playing such a well laid out game. Not the best graphics, but good enough to enjoy it to its full extent, then mod it to get 100+ more hours.
My only gripe is the single player campaign, it is not the funnest aspect and it sometimes feels like a chore.
