If you liked the old fast paced arcade Street Fighter action, then you will feel right at home with this game.
The only thing you wont like is Games for windows live…which will continually make your life difficult.
However the character modelling and skillsets are almost perfect. The stylisms you can add to the graphics are brilliant and the gameplay makes you feel like you're a 10 year old kid in the mall arcade, spending all of your pocket money again.
This game is challenging though, the AI on the harder modes will make you weep, and you will learn to absolutely loathe the name “Seth”.
5/5, brilliant gameplay, simple, wonderful graphics, justice to the old school plus adaptation of the newer technologies…what more could you want out of a fighter game?
I purchased the SFIV game from MA along with a fight pad to play on my mac running windows through bootcamp the game works perfect!!!
But I had purchased the wrong fight pad, MA were awesome and let me return the original fight pad and purchase the xbox Tekken bundle instead which has the wireless fight-stick included and it works with my mac!! so I am stoked! thanks Mighty Ape you ROCK!!
Really well ported from the xbox to PC, great game play, great graphics,
great sound.
However, if you are considering buying this – you must not use a wireless
keyboard (some moves will not be achieved, as you need to press 4 buttons at
once and pretty much no wireless keyboard can achieve that). In fact, with any
keyboard it just isnt as good, this game needs a controller. I picked up two
excellent quality USB PS3 controller clones from trademe for under $10 each –
it made all the difference to the enjoyability of the game.
I first saw the gameplay promise of SF IV walking around akihabara in Tokyo earlier this year and was determined to purchase it – and I have not been disappointed. The gameplay is as simple and elegant as it was in our beloved SF II but the eye candy of 2D play in what looks to be a 3D format really makes it. The fighters are not loaded up with new special moves and what additions to gameplay there are are for the most part not intrusive, and probably give a small added degree of complexity that is welcome.
The one qualm with gameplay is that it appears to be slower than previous versions. But this is only an issue for those like myself who grew up with a precise, almost automated view of the SF fighting world! For the price I paid for this, on the PC platform, it is well worth it if you were like me (ie not a hard core game player but with your favourites) and thinking about buying a PS3 just to play this (and in my case FIFA 10!!).
Street Fighter retains its 2D gameplay, yet it uses 3D engine for polygons, especially in the areana background. But I find street fighter very difficult
