Description

From the makers of the FINAL FANTASY® series comes an epic new adventure. THE LAST REMNANT is a completely original adventure title, benefiting from the finest creative talent to build a lush, real-time fantasy world. The game's battle system has been carefully crafted to deliver a brand-new experience for gamers, as they control forces in massive cinematic battles.

The Games for Windows version boasts a host of new features, these include; giving the player the choice to select Japanese or English voice-overs, improved character animations, the ability to allow multiple leader units to form unions and faster gameplay during battles.

In ancient times, mysterious artefacts referred to as Remnants were discovered all over the world. Offering incredible power, they soon came into the hands of the covetous few, and thus was the world’s delicate equilibrium shattered. The people were divided into those who ruled and those who were ruled over. War was inevitable. Our story begins a thousand years later…

Rush lives with his sister Irina on the secluded Eulam Island, a place far removed from the ceaseless battle for control over the Remnants which rages on the mainland. However, his peaceful life is shattered one day when he witnesses his sister’s abduction by a mysterious group of soldiers. He immediately sets off after them, ill-prepared for the evils of the outside world but determined to find his sister at any cost.

5 stars "Much like Final Fantasy"

Square Enix has done it again! This game has stunning graphics and great gameplay. The story is quite emotional and has great cutscenes. The new battle system makes the game a whole lot more fun. The animations are beautifully made and this game requires quite a decent PC. Recommended to be played with xbox 360 controller for PC (the pc controls are not quite good). Square Enix lives up to it's reputation for making the best animations and story for Video Games.
This game will give you many hours of fun!

2 stars "Close to FF series, "

The Last Remnant has a great storyline like most Square enix games with rich graphics to back it up. Though it falls short with the battle system, it seems a little confusing. I think they've put too many people to control in each battle and it makes for difficult healing. Its a harder game to play, as it seems like it was converted badly from X-Box to PC its not completly user friendly and may take some time to figuire out how it all works.

Story: 5 stars
Graphics: 4 1/2 stars
Controls: 3 stars
Cutscenes: 5 stars
Battle system: 2 1/2 stars

4 stars "Very good Square Enix RPG"

While this certainly isn't the most amazing game I have found it (so far) to be entertaining and engaging. The battle sequences are varied and not too complex and the story is interesting enough. The main character is likable and the other characters seem to also have their deep moments.

All in all a good game I would recommend to RPG fans. On a side note, however, I would definately recommend playing this game with a windows compatible gamepad (such as the xbox 360 controller I'm using).

5 stars "Best Square Enix game"

The Last Remnant is about an 18 year old brother whose sister gets kidnapped, and he wants to find her so bad.

The battle system is great – you can have up to 15 party members at one time – not like Final Fantasy. The weapons are great.

The graphics are good but you really need an nvida 8600 or better and have a duo core processor just to make it run smoothly.

It is a great game and if you like Square Enix games – I suggest you buy this one.
