The fourth World of Warcraft expansion set, Mists of Pandaria, has been unveiled! Shrouded in fog since the world was sundered more than ten thousand years ago, the ancient realm of Pandaria has remained unspoiled by war. Its lush forests and cloud-ringed mountains are home to a complex ecosystem of indigenous races and exotic creatures – including the noble and enigmatic pandaren. Will the mists of Pandaria part to reveal the world's salvation… or will the battle to control this new land push the Horde and the Alliance over the brink of war and into total annihilation?
In Mists of Pandaria, players will be able to explore an all-new continent while reaching new heights of power on their way to an increased level cap of 90. In addition, adventurers can choose whether to side with the Horde or the Alliance as World of Warcraft’s first neutral race – the pandaren – and master the ways of Pandaria’s ancient martial arts as the all-new monk class.
Mists of Pandaria Release Date Australia: Date to be confirmed
So I just started playing wow again after a 2 month break overall I've been playing since vanilla but had a large break between the end of BC and mid way through wrath. I was rather disappointed with both wrath and cata from a gameplay point of view, they tweaked the talents a little and such but overall the effort they put into the content in comparison to BC was average (raid/dungeon wise).
So anyway, I have yet to play the MOP beta though I do have a few friends who are playing it and I have been watching them stream, I think that MOP may actually be a slight comeback for the behemoth that is WoW. Yet again they are revamping the talents and in my opinion it is for the better, it is broadening the range of ways to play a class and spec by quite a lot, which I personally think is a fantastic idea it means there will be much more unique and you wont just be copying builds from the top players, sure there will be things that are better than others but the fact that you can mix and match different specs to a degree allowing for a much more personal touch to your spec is rather interesting, for example you could be playing an assassination rogue with shadowstep, just an idea.
Now I was a little skeptical about the introduction of the Pandarian race, I guess mainly because seeing random pandas running around just seems a little odd I guess, but I quickly got over this remembering that Pandarian is one of the original races in the lore and as mark said they should have been introduced earlier rather than space goats (though I prefer the term space cows) and after watching some beta streams they really don't seem too bad at all and I think its a move in the right direction, they really need to bring back the original content from the warcraft series.
A quick look at the monk, my knowledge isn't that great on the new class but from what vie seen and heard I think its an ok idea kind of a mix between a shaman and druid is how some people have described it. In my opinion im nor for or against it, I cant really say what side I'm on as I haven't tried them out nor do I know much about them but I think it is rather interesting and WoW really does need some more classes I think.
It would have been nice to see them release 2–3 classes in MOP though I think with with the new talents it will be much more interesting and hopefully will last till the next expansion though I don't know how much longer its going to be around for as there are a few new MMO's coming out that will give wow a run for its money (TERA & GW2), I hope it goes for another few years but they really have to stop bumming around and actually bring in some really interesting and fun content rather than just mindless grinds and such. Basically they just need to make it hard again. BC was good because it was a challenge and you had to work for things but now you can do raids in raidfinder and not even bother with the strategy its so basic, which is a shame because some of the raids this expansion had some potential but they just didn't quite make it.
Overall I think MOP has potential to bring WoW back, not to what it was at its peak but hopefully somewhere close to that. Lots of people aren't too happy with MOP, don't be over skeptical try give the beta a try, watch some streams don't just base your opinion on word of mouth, because thats what I originally did but then I really looked into it and was actually surprised. All I'm asking from them is don't screw this up. Its really that last chance they have and if MOP is a flop (couldn't help myself) I'm going to go play Guild Wars 2.
World of Warcraft is now owned by Activision, If your looking for a brand new game with many improvements and features never done in a MMO look elsewhere.
i've played WOW for over 3 years and quit during cataclysm where things started going down hill,
Pre-order intensives are everywhere (Diablo 3 collectors, Starcraft, Toys, Annual pass.
More and more things are appearing on the blizzard store, Exclusive Mounts/Pets Costing a whole months subscription.
There is a lack of Patches and content seems recycled, almost all cata content actually. There's nothing really new in MOP to make me want to play WOW again, the game has got stale, it's became like the call of duty franchise where they recycle content and call it a new game when adding only a few new things. If you want to see the new content check out MMO CHAMP in your Google search.
Main features a re-done talent system gone are the 30– tallent point trees you now get 5– 1 every 15 levels, which act more as glyphs and can be swapped out between combat.
Pet Battles(Pokemons)
New Continent Pandaria (China) Land of the Pandas,
Pvp Story focus(no main villain)
Max level 80 (5 more levels)
Last bit:
Most servers are unbalanced with 1 side (Horde or Alliance) wining battlegrounds 90% of the time, There is now a lack of community, people are focused on quick fix epic gear and gear levels. Only Sit AFK (Away from Keyboard)in the main cities to Quewe up for dungeon finders and Raid finders. And the Graphics are so out of date they will make your eyes hurt Even on Maximum.
If your playing from NZ Expect 300 Millisecond lag as there are no NewZealand Servers.
But overall its a alright game if you like doing the same thing over and over again.
This product is truly amazing definetley one of the best i have seen in a long long time. Your are sure not to be dissapointed with this product. I Have heard of otherpeople aswell who have just raved about it definetley a thumbs up from me.
It's funny seeing so many people rage over the inclusion of Pandarians in
the latest expansion.
I Stopped playing wow a long time ago but I've played Warcraft since Warcraft
2 was released retail. And Pandarian's being released masks far more sense
from a lore point of view than, Draenei, Worgens, and pretty much 90% of the
other races they made up to fill space.
If people actually bothered to play Warcraft 3 they would realise just how fitting Pandarians are.
Not to mention awesome. Now if only they released them back in 2008 instead of the stupid space goats, I might have kept playing for a bit longer.
