2 stars "Just Awful"

It only gets the one star because it is a League game, apart from that this game is a disgrace to what the PS3 is capable of

Big Ant should be dumped from any further league game projects after this as they have cut out just under half the teams & franchise mode from the Wii version – which last time I checked was not as powerful as the PS3 or 360

Graphics are ok, but the replays in game are so choppy it is embarrasing. Gameplay is probably the best part but still is a long way behind all other sports games worth your money

Multiplayer is noy as good as some have said. In games I have played there is definately some lag which can effect scoring tries & making tackles which is a big no no

Only get this if you have a spare hundy lying around, love league & want to let out some frustration

4 stars "Very similar to PS2"

It's really similar gameplay to PS2, just improved on graphics. Was hoping for an engine like NBA or NFL but that didn't happen. And because that didn't happen the guys should have focused on the crowd at least – the crowd sucks! But hey – it's on PS3 and the only one there at the moment so can't compare (when is rugby coming out!)

BUT I gave this a high review because the online gaming is awesome! About time a rugby or league game had online play. No lags, online options could be improved though – and if you're playing online and losing then don't leave the game – that's really annoying!

A few simple things could be improved on:

Refs on the field would be good

Crowd shouldn't be like the old school cartoon backgrounds that just repeat themselves

Online rosters to download for every season (maybe this is available in the updates)

Anyway.. Back to playing online!

4 stars "Not that bad"

I have been reading the reviews and agree that graphics could have been better. But I found the gameplay is closer to the real thing than previous titles. Little things like holding down players at tackle, slowing down momentum really add to the game. The ability to play online is the best draw card here, apart from opponents pulling out mid game which is really annoying. I found no lags and its great fun to take on other people which keeps me playing this title.

2 stars "Anti Climax"

Been waiting for a league game for so long and got it and what a letdown! its fun for a while just because its a league game. But gameplay, last gen graphics ,horrible commentary and lack of modes. Rugby league 2 for ps2 is 10 times more enjoyable.

5 stars "pretty stoked.. the eagle has landed!!"

I think my Wii reviews of this game have had something to do with thi. I mean, I have just handed it to them. “demand”? lol abuse more like it. Ah well, they have caved we have it
8-) & we win all hail the consumers.
It best be good and have been worked on though.. ps3 is not Wii and must be respected as such
i.e. the online must be lagless etc etc cut scenes must be skipped in a second and with ease if choose. passes must not drift and float aimlessly. you get the picture. Fingers crossed.

5 stars "Wow, finally its coming .."

I have been waiting for a rugby league game to come out on PS3 for years, and now, finally, its on its way. A little pricey but hopefully after reading some previews and reviews the price should match the quality of the game.

2 stars "Lame as"

This is crap, rugby league 3 on the wii is 10 times better and this is on ps3??? gameplay is ok but the music and Voss drive me nuts. Some league fans will swear by it, others will wonder why they are shelling out for a ps2 game on ps3???

"Good for 2+ players"

Found the difficulty setting vastly different, either too easy or too hard.
Good game to muck around with if you have friends around

1 stars "DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!"

This has to be one of the worst games avaliable on PS3! The graphics are horrible, looks more like a PS2 game, the gameplay is crap, everytime you hit it up, you get driven back 4–5 metres. How many times has Manu been dumbed on his backside by Trent Barret??? cause it happens everytime in this game! I wouldnt pay $5 for this game let alone $119.00.

3 stars "Could Be Better"

I would have to say that this game is lacking in some areas for example the graphics could be far better when compared to the likes of the ea madden series this game almost looks psp/ps2 graphics at best.

The best part of this game is the online play although glitchy at times it is fun to play against a real person.
The ranking system is flawed because when you are beating somebody they can just quit out of the game and both people are registered with a no resulted game and the quitter is not disadvantaged in any way for their next game, which becomes very very annoying.

Still a good enjoyable game for any rugby league fan despite its flaws.

3 stars "Rugby League on the PS3..."

There is alot of things that this game is missing which is the staple of ANY sport games (franchise mode, ability to edit your favourite team) which is why I am only giving this a 3 star rating. But since this is the 1st rugby league game on the next-gen console, I can only hope that buy purchasing this it will help the developer get started on another one. Multiplayer is great and online play is good as well, many fun times ahead!!

2 stars "Disappointed.."

I was on the verge of preordering this game as I was pumped to play a rugby game of ANY sort on ps3, now I am glad I didnt because it is woeful gameplay and the only redeemer is rthe fact that it is league (and has MANU)
Now im going to have to wait till a rugby game (hopefully) comes out for the world cup, on another note GO THE MIGHTY WARRIORS!

2 stars "Still NO MAJOR improvements."

This game was a MAJOR disappointment for me, the graphics were horrid and the game play was mediocre and felt like you were playing a PS2 game. The features & game modes are simple and boring. Only great thing about the game is you get to play as your favorite NRL team (obviously) and play the State Of Origin but the whole game itself needs better developers behind it like EA or something .

1 stars "Didnt live up to the hype"

Very dissapointed with this game. Graphics are terrible especially for the capabilities of the PS3 and gameplay is just as bad. I played this game for an hour and being a huge NRL fan I was bored with the season mode. Online play is where u will get the most fun but even that gets boring after 5–6 games. Im hoping the next league game they make will be more like an EA sports type standard. GUTTED!!!

Was super keen to get this game as I am a huge fan of league!! but what a disappointment the graphics are like something from play station 2 game play is average its like they just raced it out to make some quick coin I wouldn't recommend buying it rent it first and see what you think

1 stars ""TERRIBLE""

A real let down for for a game which was so highly anticipated.it feels like they just banged something out for the sake of it and didn't focus on making a good game to satisfy the drones of league fans. The graphics are horrendous you cant tell which player you are controlling and the game play is very hard to control. It feels very “PSPish” to me.Overall I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone.

"Rugby League For the PS3"

Well, this has been a long time coming!!And I must admit when I first played I was dissapointed!!Graphics are ok but only slightly better than PS2.The game itself though isn't to bad,but what happened to the Franchise mode?? And also the Single match mode where you can choose the amount of time you play for??Don't get me wrong this better than having nothing but just so frustrating they couldn't carry some good things over from the pS2 version, mainly suspensions and things like that.If you ask me Nintendo got the game just about perfect just thought Sony PS3 could have built on that with the ability for the graphics and the amount of information it can hold compared to the Nintendo Wii.
All in all a good effort but lots to build on.

1 stars "Lame"

Yet another exciting prospect that has missed the mark completely, it makes me wonder wether the developers have actually watch much league at all. Very poor graphics, one match there were several players with either no heads or different coloured heads. The commentary is out of sync with the game & is rediculously repetitive & the crowds & stadiums are something you wouldve seen on ps1 ten years ago. The gameplay is not good enough to save what couldve been my game of the year, very, very disappointing.

5 stars "Now that I've played....."

Sinply the PES 05 (gamers will get what I mean) of footy… A beyond-expectations sim that captures so many elements of the game and plays so realistically and satisfyingly from a gameplay perspective that it has usurped Jonah Lomu Rugby and ET's rugby league as indisputably the greatest oval ball game of all-time.. Easily.

Online for me was lag-free and has provisions for quitters and has 2v2s, so you and your mate can take on ppl together etc etc..... Medium level AI is off the hook challenging after 50 games (can never see myself using hard… And that is superb)… you can effectively grubber, bomb, punt… Momentum matters and is brilliantly captured and executed… I am blown away!! They frikkin' did it!! Maybe the graphics are not madden 2011, but it doesn't need them..... It just plays too good to care and, anyway, the face captures and general animations of tackling and so forth are primo anyway! It's my new fav game… Modern warfare 2 takes the back seat!!

9.1/10

Sport gaming nirvana…

As I have always been a die hard rugby league fan I cannot wait for my copy 2 arrive. However I am not expecting it to be much better than the other league games on the ps2 as I have just watched the trailer and it didnt look too impressive. Heres hoping I am proved wrong!

3 stars "Yeah Baby..."

Just pre-ordered and I cannot wait to go online and play as the mighty GOLDCOAST TITANS. I'm not expecting much in the graphics dept but hopefully gameplay will be top notch.

PS..why does the music trailer sound like a lead up to some 70's C-grade biker movie?

2 stars "Expect similar"

This will be great for PS3/360 owners dying for a type of rugby game to play. I wouldn't expect too much to change from PS2 versions of this game except for some more polished graphics of players & stadiums. Obviously updated rosters for the current season as well.
Gameplay was pretty awesome with these games anyway so should still be that way, especially if multiplayer doesn't lag online

4 stars – price just a bit too high & I am going to get sick of Voss by himself after a week (bring in Ray Warren!)
