"Not bad, not bad at all.."
I just played the demo (4 player co-op online) and its pretty awesome! I am heavily considering getting this game now. The trailer looked interesting but I wasn't sure it would be good but I have a decent idea on how good this game is now! The demo is available now so if you aren't sure like I was, go check it out!
"Awesome, simply awesome"
After seeing the banner here on mightyape, I watched every trailer and
subscribed to the youtube channel. Playing the demo graphics are great, a few
textures could be better. And lags a bit even if you host.
I see why they made it R18, as it contains exploding heads on a headshot, and
people can be sawn in half by a shotgun. There isn't buckets of blood but flying
limbs and such push the rating up. It is still amazing and weapons feel almost
real.
If you look down you can see your body also if you slide or sprint and jump you
see a bit of your character aswell. And coop is true to original, in the sense
of 4 agents sent around the world to give their company the advantage.
"Not just another stock FPS in an over-saturated genre"
This game exceeded my expectations. When I first heard about the Syndicate reboot being an FPS (and saw the fairly lacklustre trailer), I thought it was a bit of a waste of a fantastic franchise.
I bought this recently, after some big price drops, and I was impressed at how much better the game was than I thought it would be, and how much more original it was. The single-player campaign isn't wildly original, but there are enough unique gameplay features and creative weapons that it feels like Syndicate has something fresh to offer a very over-saturated genre.
I think a main selling point is the large number of co-op levels. The mission-based co-op gameplay is unlike what anyone else is doing (it's more objective-based than Uncharted or Call Of Duty's co-op modes), and it's a refreshing way to play an FPS. The co-op has more in common with the original game, since you're generally operating in a squad of 4 with a set objective.
The game keeps enough links to the original that you feel like it's set in the same universe, involving the same companies, but is modernized enough that it doesn't seem dated. Overall, this game didn't quite get the credit it deserved; it's not just another stock shooter.
"could have been great, its only good"
I had very high hopes for this game, in the end it disapointed me, its still good dont get me wrong, but a good game is dime a dozen these days, it didnt stand out or leave an impression after id finished it, if you're a casual gamer you might want to check it out but dont expect an engaging storyline with interesting characters because it aint in this game BUT the gameplay is very solid and fun, co op is great you actaully have to work together if you want to progress, I think they should have spent more time working on getting the characters and story right though, overall 7/10 for single player 9/10 for co op

Why all the hating for- No one has even played the new syndicate yet! Why remake a game but not change anything about it- Looking forward to a new experience set in a rather familiar SYNDICATE universe!
