Pusher
Frank (Richard Coyle) may just be London’s most unlucky drug dealer.
A handsome and
charismatic small time criminal, he unwisely borrows money from a ruthless
Serbian crime boss (Zlatko Buric) to finance what he naively believes to be a
sure thing. But there are too many ways his plan can go wrong, and when nearly
all of them do, Frank finds his life spiralling out of control. Scrambling to
come up with the money, his actions grow increasingly despicable as his
desperation mounts and his relationships with those around him begin to
crumble.
Critic Reviews:
- " It is well acted. It turns the same old, same old gangster thriller screws, but with a fine eye for tension and keeping the audience emotionally involved. " – Deborah Ross
- " The most original British gangster flick in years. " – Andy Lea
- " A remake of a 1996 Danish thriller, it's a pulsating, propulsive and nerve-racking film that breathes new life into a genre whose tropes wore out long ago. " – Roger Moore
