Cool game. It really showcases the hardware capabilities of the 3DS with awesome graphics and sound…I couldn't believe I was playing this on a Nintendo handheld! A refreshing change to first party Nintendo titles like Mario/Zelda, especially if you enjoy blowing away zombies! Campaign mode is a bit short, but there's raid mode to keep you busy after that.

"A worthy addition to the series"

Story-wise it's the usual corporate bio-terrorism conspiracy story. Cheesy story and cheesy dialogue. Great visuals and sound, probably the best-looking 3DS game I've played. Got 10–11 hours of gameplay through the Campaign and there's Raid mode; a remix of the Campaign levels with different enemies and the added feature of leveling up your character. Online co-op in Raid mode is quite fun. Would recommend anyone into the Resident Evil series to pick this game up!

Title says it all.

This is the first Resident Evil game I have played and I am really enjoying it (yet to complete the game as it is quite long and Raid mode is a great extension filled with hours of fun).

Pros:

Graphics – amazing !

  • felt like I was playing on a console as it was very detailed with no noticeable lag !

Story – lovely and simple

  • continues from a previous game (story)
  • save a loved one gone missing and then run for your lives !!!

Setting – super scary !!!

  • multiple: in a scary ship in the middle of the ocean, snowy mountains the next and many more

Game play/Controls – very flexible controls tailored to your play style and the circle pad pro really is optional

  • explore to your hearts content as you never know what secrets you may find

Cons: (just kidding, it's a Pro in disguise)

Playing on the 3DS (XL), equipped with stereo speakers, in first person view and playing with the 3D on, you are sure in for a fright as adrenaline rushes through your body as you decide to fight or flight.

For those familiar with the franchise, they may be able to pin point a con or two and/or compare with other such games of the horror/survival genre.

However, for those new to the whole Resident Evil video game series or the horror/survival genre in itself, as myself, there really aren't any flaws with this game and it is a wonderful starting point for joining in on a new genre such as this.

This is a must have if you like horror/survival games, shooter (FPS/TPS), something to help you sleep at night or just for the love of video games – you must have this in your collection and play it till it's end.

Description

Set in 2005, Resident Evil: Revelations uncovers truths from the Resident Evil storyline between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and is packed with terrifying moments that deliver a constant fear of the unknown through an intense storyline which is full of depth.

Intertwining story themes work together to build a brand new narrative with new locations and characters bringing intrigue and suspense around every corner. Series favourite characters from previous Resident Evil games return including Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield plus new BSAA members and head of the BSAA Clive R. O’Brian and mysterious agent Raymond Vester.

Jill Valentine and BSAA partner Parker Luciani have been sent to search for Chris Redfield, whose last known GPS data positions him as being onboard a supposedly abandoned cruise ship. Danger hides around every corner as you explore the confined space of the ship and face menacing new enemies and a virus; the T-Abyss.

Resident Evil: Revelations heralds the return of classic Resident Evil game play. In Campaign Mode you can investigate a range of different locations including the dark cramped spaces of a cruise ship and some treacherous snow covered mountains. With limited ammo and weapons, you fight off the infected enemies that lurk around every corner.

The brand new Raid Mode offers a different kind of Resident Evil gameplay experience, separate to the main campaign story, in either solo or co-op play. Compete in single player or two player co-op as Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield on a variety of missions to defeat enemies. Earn points for the enemies you attack and select from a range of upgrades to improve your weapon’s performance as well as levelling up your character. Both Campaign Mode and Raid Mode will provide players with a rich experience full of depth that will keep players continually engrossed in the game.

Built from the ground up specifically to make the best use of the Nintendo 3DS capabilities, players can now add a fourth control scheme to their Nintendo 3DS gameplay experience with the new Circle Pad Pro accessory which attaches to the Nintendo 3DS system. Use specific button combinations for more effective or expert play, or as a traditional “twin-stick shooter”. You can also make use of the Touch Screen to solve puzzles, switch between weapons more easily and check out the labyrinthine map.
