Scars And Stories is the third full-length album from the Denver-based quartet The Fray and follow-up to the band's Grammy Nominated 2009 self-titled release. The 12-song set was recorded at the legendary Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN with producer Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Neil Young).
On Scars & Stories, the The Fray successfully transformed their real life experiences into a collection of songs that are wonderfully reflective, yet still maintain a pop sensibility, fostering an evolution the band has never experienced before, both lyrically and musically. “On our first record, we didn’t quite trust ourselves yet,” says pianist/vocalist Isaac Slade. “We loosened up on the second album, but there was still some element of restraint. But on this one, we just stepped up to plate and swung as hard as we could."
